My name is david. I have been on everypony for 3 days now, as you can probally tell. You might have seen me around but i have been getting harrassed for liking my little pony friendship is magic at my school. There are only 3 bronys i know at my school.. and they still hate when i talk about Mlpfim? It just seems like people are immature towards bronys and they say every brony is a 40 year old child molester? I know this isnt true but i could use some support. With love, David.
There are already hundreds of threads about this. I also class it as a depression thread. Sorry, but this is pointless.
Ignore everything you hear especially that last part. Try not to let it get to you to bad. I have had hurtful things said to me, not for your reason stated here, but for others and I generally say something that agrees with them a little, note not majorly, it takes them by surprise more often than not and ruins their fun. If you do not feel like this is the right approach just simply ignore them and they will go away. Hopes this helps, I haven't really had this problem though.
well, we have had lot of topics about this actually. Simply, yes, you'll always find close minded people who will stereotype you over something like show. now best thing for you to do is to simply say that you like the show, and that you surely know more bronies (and you're one), so you have first hand valid info about bronies. Also, don't let them get to you. Don't expect everyone will like the show, or bronies, but that doesn't automatically make them bad people or hate you. I'm here to talk if you need any help, ok? *hugs tightly*
Howdy, David. Sorry to hear your Troublesome, Kids today need to stop and think what their about to do before they act towards someone liking on whatever it is. Kids i wish today would be more open minded but nope. They want to play this person who all cool and whatnot but really are nothing more then a loser. Bronies not wanting to talk about MLP? Whaaaat? Them hating you for it isn't right. Who cares if your gonna talk about, if you want to talk about it? Then by god, your gonna talk about it. It's all good fun and it's not hurting one to not talk about it. Child molester? I Laugh when people say crud like that. Shows how ignorant they are and don't see it in are eyes. Maybe they need to sit down and watch a few episodes before you say anything insulting towards us bronies. I wish i was at your school, man, i'l teach them a lesson.
I know.. but i just wanted imput.. but i really am mad about what people in my community think about bronys.
Well you're not going to change their minds, so don't let them know you watch the show. Can't be that hard. Now, if you are sort of making a scene out of being a brony at school, then it is sort of understandable why people at your school wouldn't be so thrilled about it. Otherwise, just buckle up and get on with your life and concern yourself with more serious matters, like friends, work, and school.
Aw well Dan~ I'm sorry you're down. *hugs* Of course you've always got people here who will share your interest in this show =) It's kinda our culture ^^ In real life, though, a lot of people just aren't going to get it. It's not their fault: it's just not in their makeup, like it's not in my makeup to get why anyone would ever pay to eat licorice. When you impose MLP on them, it upsets them on some level the same way it would upset me to be forced to eat licorice. Getting angry at them for that is silly. Of course they shouldn't bully you for it, but they will. Because of that, if it bothers you to put up with that kind of crap, just don't make MLP part of who you are in real life; keep it here. I'm sure you have a lot to offer to the world aside from your fandom =) -Fieu
Oh, human ignorance! (if that's the case, here) I remember this. Very common. (if that's the case, here) Best tip? Ignore it, take it to the chin, and keep that chin UP! Any more problems, PM me. It isn't worth a thread, it just gets people down in the dumpsies, mate.
Except when you're here, of course. You don't need to go shouting about it, but don't be too shy, either. If you can be proud but discreet, that's usually good. What a coincidence! My name is also David.
Yes, this. ^ There's nothing that I dislike more than arrogance, and many people share the same views.
