Well I just woke up, I don't have cable and it's not on the site you gave me for Transformers yet. Can't speak to the others, but is it really that big of a deal that no one has replied yet? As far as I know not a lot of us watch it live. I'll reply after I've seen it.
In past seasons, episode discussion threads would be several pages long by now. I just hate to see the site dying like it is. OT: It was really cool to see the return of the whole rogues gallery. It was even cooler to see real Bat Ponies for the first time since Season 2.
Figures that the last episode of the season airs when we have our last auction. I'll have Saturdays off and won't get to race Rid for the first episode thread!! But anyhoo... Just when I thought a show called My Little Pony couldn't get any more epic, THIS HAPPENED!!!!! I don't know where to start!! I mean, all of the villains in one episode (especially Sombra), Dashie literally being the most important pony in Equestria (OK, not just her but let me have this moment), a battle of 2 VASTLY opposite ideals, and finally the redemption of a pony who even I thought may be too far gone to save!!! I'm literally tearing up a little as I type this!! I enjoyed this whole season so much and I can't wait to see what lies ahead for our little ponies and especially their new friend!!! OK, Jared, calm down so you can give a fair... and... objective... OH SCREW IT!!!! A BAZILLION/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Saying that this episode started out strong is an understatement. From the minute Starlight cast her spell, this episode was a masterpiece of action and drama. It showed just enough of the alternate futures to set the scene and make you want more, and then moved on to the next one. My only real problem was the pacing at the end. Starlight's redemption seemed a little rushed. I mean, the plot elements for it were in place, but it just happened quicker than I would have expected. This might have worked better as a three-parter. Still, I'd say the ride was more than worth the price of admission. 9.9/10
Such an amazing episode! It was so exiting to see the villains in one whole episode. There was also quite a bit of scenes that were pretty interesting, most of them were pretty much what would happen in the future if RD didn't do the sonic rainboom. The soldier costumes were pretty cool. I was actually expecting for Starlight continuing on being evil or maybe being killed instead of being reformed. Overall, I'd give it a 9.8/10. That's also something I've noticed too, not many members reply to these threads. Unless if there's some argument going on about an episode, that would be a different story though.
I did like seeing all the old villains again, Tabitha was kept busy with voices! I was rooting for the Chrysalis and Nightmare Moon present day outcomes to win though... My only nitpick is how OP they made Starlight Glimmer. Twilight couldn't beat her, but beat Nightmare Moon (who had successfully banished Celestia to the moon) like it was nothing. She's the only villain from the show that I don't like.
Over all the story was okay, but the ending... they just copied the first EG movie. Only they did it worse. In EG it took time for people to forgive Sunset, but here it seems like everyone forgave Startlight at the drop of a hat.
Well, to be fair, the EqG mane 6 forgave Shimmy pretty quick too even if the rest of the school wasn't so willing at first. Also, I'm pretty sure no one in Ponyville knew who Starlight Glimmer was anyway. Otherwise, they would have noticed and called her out at Sparky's speech.
Meanwhile, in Downtown City... Not related to the episode but it aired today too so I think it deserves recognition. ^_^ You mean the "want it, need it spell" from Lesson Zero?
That's the one. I'm not saying that Twilight did brainwash everypony into accepting Starlight Glimmer without question, or even that she ever would do something like that. I'm just pointing out that she could.
I just noticed your avatar. And now, I read all your posts in Brian Blessed's voice. And ^ that one works surprisingly well.
Way to quick in accepting Starlight back. I know it's a kids show and all but I woulda banished her far away lol. She *squee!*ed them over twice already, but I guess it's three strikes your're out to Twilight.
I would have bought that if they didn't go back to the town she ruled with an iron fist and it showed them accepting her.
