There are other rules you can break besides nsfw stuff. I assume Ridley means his argumentative attitude which some seem to mistake for baseless hostility; someone posted a thread calling for his ban once, iirc. Xan's ban has been lifted. I do kinda think that would be a good idea, except that some people might not want the reason for their ban being publicly displayed. No-one sets out to be banned, so broadcasting their mistakes without their consent might even upset them enough to prevent them from coming back after the ban is lifted.
Okay you have a point with the last one. It's just uncomfortable not knowing, but I guess it could be just as bad if we did.
