I don't think most people would feel quite as attached as they are to the series if the community wasn't also here to delve into. Even now, there is only a set number of episodes to watch, but the popularity is still growing right? The TV series will come to an end, but in years to come, and by then the community will be even more deep-rooted. I find it funny that most of the popularity in FiM was drummed up by the internet. And I'm pretty sure the internet will still be around after FiM, and so will the people who love it.

I'd like to think as long as the above^ holds true I'll hang back and keep on providing a hub for those die hard fans in hope of further seasons and a continuation of the friendliest internet community I've ever had the pleasure of knowing! :)

If I may add, aren't there still thousands upon thousands of fans of the original Star Trek series? I'm not comparing the Friendship is Magic fanbase to the Star Trek fanbase (because ours is better), but it just goes to show, a series with the right place in the heart of the fans will never die. Honestly, there is no doubt us bronies are the kind of fans to keep this going.

    FOREVER.

Why is that child screaming? He should be ecstatic for seeing Pinkie.

Anyway, you're right Lup. Fans are fans for a reason- because they love whatever they are a fan of. Bronies will keep MLP alive, no matter what. Also yes, our fandom is better than any other.

I know, right? I'd be screaming for joy. And you know what else? He looks a little young to have gone to the University of Georgia...

    Back on track,
fills me full of hope. My Little Pony will never die. Bronies will never die. But what really makes me smile, is that Everypony will never die. Name me one other forum where every now and then, somebody randomly posts a thread saying how much they love everybody.

Another point worth mentioning, I was watching a documentary about Pixar the other night. Now, I don't know about anyone else here, but I am a huge Pixar fan. I have watched all their films and they have never failed to amaze me. The one thing that seperates them from the others is that the people behind the scenes are just big kids, enjoying what they do. They don't make films for budget, revenue, anything like that. They do it for fun.
These are the kind of people that are behind Friendship is Magic. Lauren Faust is basically a big child, and it's wonderful. She has fun! And that's why I have the utmost confidence that the ponies we all know love have got too much life in them for us to consider things like this just yet.

When FiM inevitably ends, it will always hold a special place in heart for a long, long time to come!

To be honest, when it does end, it will be extremely heart-breaking when it ends! *thinks back to how he felt after the first season ended*

What will I do after it ends? I don't know yet. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Lup, I just imagined Pixar working with the MLP team. I'm not sure how it would go, but it's full potential would most likely overwhelm me with love, d'aaww, and tears.

As long as there's a single Brony in our world, 'My Little Pony' will continue to thrive. And even when we do eventually die, 'My Little Pony' will still exist where ever we go. (Hopefully not to pay Satan a visit...) Like all the shows in the world, they will all gradually come to an end. But as long as the world still cares about the show, it'll live on, maybe not exactly what we remembered it as, but at least it'll still be alive. A few of the main characters (If I'm correct, Pinkie Pie and Rainbow Dash, in particular.) existed in all the generations of the MLP series. And over time, they slowly changed into who we know as of this day. Based off of that, there's probably an endless number of ways this series could be changed, remastered, or expanded.

    Who knows?

I don't know. I'd like to think that I'll continue to love the show. Realistically, without new episodes, I'll probably grow weary of it, just as I did with Yugioh, Death Note, Code Geass, Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends. I'll probably stop watching the show within a year of the final episode, and it will slip out of my mind and out of my life. I don't like it, that's just how my mind works.

I'd like to say that I'm a brony for life, but I just don't see this realistically being the case. It's like this horribly sad song says: "Life's about changing; nothing ever stays the same."

That said, while I may lose my fandom, I imagine some of the friends I'll make will be with me a lot longer than the ponies themselves =) Bronies are awesome guys, by and large, and I want to have people like them around me through the rest of my time.

Something here strikes me as off.

I find it highly unlikely that Hasbro will abandon their most successful generation
of My Little Pony, especially with its every growing number of adult followers with deep pockets.
Hasbro has done a lot to build up to this moment. Furthermore, the vision for FiM was Faust's,
and frankly, it doesn't strike me as either politically or economically advantageous to
suddenly branch off and scrap a successful project.
But given time, some changes will be applied to the series, and in a number of years,
it is quite likely another generation will be released.
However, let us remember to take into account the fact that Hasbro is populated
by successful business people and economists, as well as experienced financial planners
    and team leaders.
I think they will have realized, "Hey, I think we did something right with G4. We should probably
    do that again in G4.5/5."
The way I see it is, unless Hasbro desires to ruin their own progress,
and leave a huge number of people with bitter feelings for their company, they will
probably work to only improve and expand their show and product line.

After all, if Hasbro does decide to move onto some other generation of MLP, they will
probably still want the Brony community to exist, being albeit not the largest, but still
a sizable source of both advertizing and income.
Though, even with all that having been said, Hasbro still has no reason to undergo
such a change as it stands.
They have a second season with monumental success in the running, they have a 3[sup]rd[/sup]
season supposedly in production, why stop? Why not keep going?
Unless we get bored with this, which shouldn't happen assuming Hasbro plays
their cards right, they'll just have an additional demographic that supplies their
    already massive corporate empire.

Finally, I think by this point we should have learned to trust Hasbro, and their sub parts
responsible for producing advertising, merchandise and the show itself.
Over the course of some, 31 episodes now, they did not disappoint.
In fact, I think for many, they exceeded expectations.

When G4 ends, in some 4 or 5 years, it will be replaced by some monumental
'and probably epic generation that combines all of the techniques and ideas cultivated
over the successful years of G4, with new ideas and concepts, and most likely
    new technologies as well.

The Brony fandom and its various communities have long illustrious (though sometimes
disturbing, heart-breaking or some emotion of the like) path paved out for it.
And as time progresses, the fandom will under go changes, move between phases,
hop between standings and ideas. As it already has.
Enjoy it while you still remember what it means to be a Brony.

Ah well, I'm not so optimistic Grey--if greatness were as easy to maintain as it is to achieve, Star Wars would still be good, there'd be 10 Godfathers, and we'd all still be Babylonian :p

But yeah, I'm still on your side really. However long this actually lasts, the thing to do is to hope for a long future and to enjoy each episode as it comes without worrying about the end date too terribly much.

Besides, even when this does end, there's bound to be something cool out there, even if it isn't ponies. After all, I wouldn't have found ponies if I hadn't been willing to give my old fandoms a break ^^

Mark my words. This fandom will create a spark in the universe. And that spark will be a path for those behind us! The dreams of those who've fallen! The hopes of those who'll follow! Those two sets of dreams weave together into a double helix! Drilling a path towards tomorrow! And that's Honesty, Generosity, and Kindness! That's Loyalty, Laughter and Magic!! Our friendship is the friendship...that creates the heavens!!!

I see myself liking Ponies for quite some time but I'll eventually grow out of it and start a family.
Then one day I'll look through my old things and find an old dusty Brony shirt. I'll take a moment to think of why I have a pony shirt in my childhood memorabilia (guess early adulthood would be slightly more accurate in my case) and wonder what the hell was wrong with me? Liking Ponies? They're for girls! Then suddenly reality will hit me like a bolt of lightning and I'll say Hey I remember Bronies now. That shirt there is Rainbow Dash, that one Pinkie Pie, and that adorable one's flutter... something. The warm memories will comeback! Then something else will happen!

I'll turn and see my daughter (assuming I have a daughter) and she'll see the Pony. She'll say You like Ponies too daddy? Then I'll watch her favorite MLP G5 or 6 or whatever it is with her, but then I'll make sure to show her how ponies are done with some good old fashioned Friendship is Magic!

The show will still have a massive cult following if/when it ends. I still don't see it ending within the next few seasons, but I agree that Lauren Faust leaving was strange. I wish she'd elaborate on that decision. She's probably still involved in FiM, just far more indirectly.

I couldn't get into any of those shows. Yu-Gi Oh! was incredibly painful to watch, like DBZ during the Frieza Saga.

    Two words: Expanding Universe.

Star Wars has kept afloat for some time after Episode III ended due largely to this. Star Trek has survived mostly through this. Anime and Manga survive past their experation date due largely to fanfiction and fanart, part of which is a form of the Expanding Universe phenomenon. I judge that MLP:FiM will remain fluid and alive past the point that episodes have stopped airing, simply due to the creativity of the fanbase.

If it doesn't, we'll always have the memories.

Meh, as long as I get enough ponies I'm fine.
