[parasprite]Fluttershy > Rarity.[/parasprite] Anyways, yeah, she's the most biggest awesomenest unicorn in the whole of Equestria!
(uses pompoms, wears a gem uniform and dances) Gimme a R, gimme an A! Rarity is the best pony around, without a doubt! But I still go for Princess Luna.
In the beginning, Rarity was one of my least favorite of the mane six. Now, she still may not be my top favorite, but do like her a lot more.
Mmm, cookies! Anyway, so yes, Rarity. Praise Rarity and all that. Rarity is the girly girl, or at least the most girly girl of the group. She's into fashion and all the things people associate with the more girly characters. So that's what her targeted audience of relation is supposed to be; girly girls. She tends to be kinda easy-flowing and mellow most of the time. Not wanting to really get down and dirty much (minds out of the gutter here). However, like Fluttershy, if she's pushed to it, she can get very assertive as well to come to the rescue of her friends.
My second favourite pony due in bit part to me having almost nothing in common with her but was surprise when I ended up liking her so much. I like how her character develops and she becomes less vain. Suited for success, made me see her in a different light at having her creations be unappreciated. I relate to that with my own creative work.
I think Rarity is different from other main ponies - she's more sweeter and girlier than them. At first I did not like her but now I like her a lot (but less than Fluttershy, P.Pie or Twilight Sparkle). I think "Suited for Success", first/second episode with Rarity as main character, is very good episode. And I think "A Dog and Pony Show" is great episode. And Rarity in this episode is also really great. But why Rarity uses Spike's love for her? And is so unjust (for example "Owl's Well That End's Well") and a bit cruel to him?
I don't think that Rarity uses Spike's love for her, partly because she probably doesn't know that he's in love with her and partly because she isn't manipulative. All those times that Spike's helped Rarity were mostly, if not entirely, volunteer duties for him. He could say no, but he doesn't because he knows that even though it seems like she's using him, she sincerely appreciates his help. As for in "Owl's Well That Ends Well," if you're referring to her giving Owlowiscious/Owloysius(I have no idea; I've seen it both ways)the exact same bow tie as she did to Spike, she didn't know that it would hurt Spike like that. As I said earlier, she doesn't really know how strong Spike's feelings for her are; she thought it was just a gift to him, not something that he'd really treasure(of course, she could give him ANYTHING and he'd guard it with his life). She didn't mean to make him upset; she didn't even think he'd mind all that much. So it's all good; she doesn't use Spike or abuse him- it just seems that way because she's blind to his love for her.
Not to mention that, to be honest, and even if Spike was a pony, Rarity wouldn't fall for a little boy, right?
Like many people, I despised Rarity at first. She was the same generic, fashion loving ,"Let"s go SHOPPING!!", vain character in most any cartoon. The turning point was when I found out that instead of just fawning over the latest trends, she creates them. She is pony whose personality stems from her desire to create art. In fact, I think I'm beginning to like her more than Pinkie. Also, I am no fan of shipping, but Rarity/Spike is the only relationship I'll ever accept, even if Spike is too young.
Yes; as we've seen, she is a lady and holds higher standards than most. That's not to say that she's any more successful than Spike in her pursuit for love, though.
OK. You are right. I see that Rarity isn't cruel to Spike, dont uses his love. But I don't think she don't know about his love. I hope she know.
"I. AM. RARITY!" Oh where do I begin she's hygenic, elegant, composed, well spoken, imaginative, artistic... And ofc. Smart, intellectual and a great complainer/whiner <3
well, Rarity is usually kind of character (animated character or irl girl) that I generally dislike. but her, she has something that makes me not having dislike feeling towards her. I actually like her (as everypony else). Yes, she can be bit self centred at the times but she's generally a very good pony. as for Spike/Rarity relationship, I'm supporting it. I think Rarity got Spike's hints, but keep neutral since she had prince Blueblood in mind (till Best Night Ever). Even with age difference I think they could be couple, if not now, maybe when Spike gets bit older. And fact that they aren't same speachies shouldn't be a problem (example: Donkey and his wife dragon in Shrek, they even had kids.)
As I re-watch the series (just for the second time, I'm a bit of a new-comer), I suddenly realized, I don't dislike Rarity. I kind of thought I did, or at least, liked her the least, but after Episode 8 (Look before you Sleep), I'm suddenly starting to think she's not so bad. Normally, IRL girls like this drive me crazy - but there's more to her than just shopping and cloths. The fact she makes her own, from designing them on up, that actually sounds like my wife. Y'know, I'm starting to think that my rank of the Mane six is - all tied for first place! Praise Rarity, of course.
At first, I didn't care for Rarity that much. Mainly because I assumed she was going to act like the rich snob who felt like she was better than everybody else. 25 episodes, a great song, and a famous whining scene later, I've grown too really like her. She's still in the bottom 3 of my favorite ponies, but I've grown to like how kind and insightful she is in terms of fashion. As for the whole RarityxSpike thing, I find it kind of cute. At one point I felt like the crush was getting old, but I then realized we should just let this crush run it's course. I think Rarity treasures the friendship the two of them share, but that's as far as I see it going. Would I like it go to further, sure. It would be weird, but sure.
I, too, despised Rarity at first. I usually hate pompous, afraid-to-get-dirty sort of characters. But then i started to see the other sides to her. She's not just a stereotypical fashionista type. She is an artist, and she does actually care about her friends. She's very nice and is (obviously) generous. She gradually climbed the ladder of the mane six, and is now my favourite pony! (Just a hair above, if not equal to, Fluttershy.) BY THE WAY, EVERYPONY. I created a group for Rarity! See my signature if you wish to join! :3
