I will not mention the fic's name but here is my friend's crazy idea of Rainbow Dash: 1. Rd would have figured it out and wouldn't have eaten it in the first place which would avoid the entire thing 2. She would have escape without harm 3. Pegasus cannot be harmed or normally killed but a mortal (I even researched this stuff), and even though MLP:FiM doesn't represent Pegasi correctly, in reality if it was the real RD, she'd not be able to be dismembered or killed either way. That makes no sense at all in all honesty, I really don't think anypony is a god in any shape or form, just normal ponies living their daily lives. No demi-gods exist in mlp, not sure where he got this idea, but its just not true.
RD isn't a demi-god... But I won't deny that she IS awesome. I don't even believe that Celestia and Luna are Gods. The only God in MLP is Discord. I think that Celestia and Luna were created by the Tree of Harmony with the sole purpose of defeating Discord and ruling Equestria, because apparently they weren't "born" Alicorns but the Diary of the Two Sisters says that they were. Conclusion: They weren't "born" but created.
So, your friend thinks RD is an indestructible immortal because he can't cope with a fanfic that may or may not be Cupcakes and you created this poll for the sole reason of destroying his last shred of hope? Friendship is magic indeed.
Uh no. I made this to get an idea if people thought he was wrong or right. Guess I should have worded that right
I know Flying, he isn't the kind of person that would do a thing like that. It was just out of curiosity. It's not like he was planning to rub the results in the face of his (and mine too coincidentally) friend. It's just a poll.
Wrong he may be. But I'm not going to rub it in his face. And he's allowed to believe what he wants. As are we all.
While this would normally be agreeable, I have to agree with Ridley on this one. There is believing something different from someone else and then there is this. This is one of those things where correction would be necessary. While Dash along with the others do posses great power from the elements, they are far from Demi-God status, let alone a status that would make them invincible.
People are allowed to have their beliefs. I believe that religious people are wrong when they say "God exists". But I'm not going to go around telling all of them that they're wrong. There are too many anyway. i chose God as an example here since we're dealing with someone thinking that Dash is a Demi-God. Maybe(emphasis on maybe) it is for their own good... But THEY don't know that... And so they'll refuse your idea(s) till they die. And by pushing them to accept my way, I would risk losing them as a friend. Stupid reason to lose a great friend if you ask me... People who think differently are a necessity in this day an age. Ask yourself, would the Brony fandom even exist if some of the people on earth hadn't thought differently? If everyone on the planet thought the same, there would probably be no Brony Fandom. Not to mention that all the different music and art genres that revolutionized music and art wouldn't exist either. Because they were created and thought of by people who thought differently. People who think differently are necessary so that humanity can evolve.
I do agree that RD isn't a demi-god. But to rub someone's wrongness in someone's face. That's wrong and unkind. I'd never do that to anyone. And the whole Fandom has their crazy theory's about the show's characters. Never was is said that RD wasn't a demi-god. So the theory can still go one. And what about Bronies who ship two characters together. Let's take TwiDash for example, that is never going to happen if you ask me... But the possibility hasn't been ruled out because no one from the writers has said it wasn't possible. Having crazy theories is part of the fun of watching a show. Why try to ruin it for someone by taking that joy? I muself have come to believe that Celestia and Luna were created by the Tree of Harmony. I know that that's extremely unlikely. But it's the only thing that makes sense to me seeing as how we don't know who their parents are of if they even have them. Love and Tolerance is what we do, isn't it? Tolerate the crazy theories, good friends are worth it.
You got me there. Though I guess me and Ridley maybe more... not as kind hearted when it comes to certain stuff. Ridley more than me for sure. He is blunt and strongly opinionated. Me, I do try to see things from all sides though I have my cynical moments. As for the RD being a Demi-God thing, I may seem mean in saying so, but I kinda would laugh at something like that. It's very WTF for me but I will respect the theory if I must. It is true that there are many odd and out there theories and as far as the Royal sisters... I have seen many explain it as they are the children of the Great Faustacorn. It would work on a certain level since they were birthed into creation by Lauren Faust.
We're all a tad opinionated deep down, to some extent. I've had my moments too, though less since I've joined the fandom. And don't worry about laughing at some theories about MLP, I laugh at some of them too... When they're really over the top. The reason I love this fandom above all others is because we're all united but the love of the show. That's the major strength of this fandom. Trekkies, for example, would argue over which Star Trek generation was better. Whereas Bronies would all agree which is the best (hint: it's G4) In my mind, there's the potential for all of us to get along because were some of the most loving people on the planet. I may disagree with what we were talking about previously, but everyone has their way... And I respect that you and Ridley deal with things in your own way. (BTW, love the Chryssi GIF) Sincerely, World Runner /)
We are allowed to have our beliefs, we are also allowed to have our beliefs questioned and critiqued. You are right that it'd be a stupid thing to lose a friend over, I wouldn't hold that friend in very high regard if they were willing to cut ties with you over something so insubstantial as disagreeing with them over a tv show. Criticism and feedback is necessary for "humanity to evolve", everyone patting each other on the back saying good job to anything and everything hinders self improvement, and quite frankly it's lying to one another.
