one thing you have to know about me is that the way I draw is very untraditional. the things I do to try to get my drawings just right baffled even me but I use what I can. here are a few drawings that I used some pretty unorthodox methods to draw. I use Microsoft Paint to draw Pinkie Pie. Then I use Microsoft Paint to draw the circle in the center then edited effects to it with Microsoft PowerPoint. the background was with made with DA Muro then it all was grouped and cropped together with Microsoft PowerPoint. . I sketched out the drawing using DA Muro then I put the sketch on inkscape to draw the outlines. after that I put the outline on DA Muro and used it to color, shade , and make the background. . completely made with Microsoft PowerPoint. . made with Microsoft PowerPoint and DA Muro. this one has to be done in segments - switching between Microsoft PowerPoint and DA Muro . first I made Twilight's head and neck. I didn't worry about getting the colors perfect because I could always fill-tool it to the right color on DA Muro. I also used DA Muro to get rid of unneeded line and sharpen lines' edges. I did the same thing with the back mane, the top mane ,the ear, and then the horn in that order - coloring out any unneeded or excess lines. then after it all put together, I'd colored and shaded the heck out of it untiI I felt it was absolutely perfect. the background, too, was made in DA Muro. . paper, pencil, coloring pencils, crayons, topical oils and creams, Photoshop. you read that right. . I used so many programs to make this I don't even remember what I used. I'm serious! I do not remember! . made completely in DA Muro . . each character was individually drawn and colored with Microsoft Paint -- except for my OC which was drawn completely into DA Muro. then, each one individually shaded and fully colored using Photoshop. the one on the far left was put in late so I sketch him off on DA Muro then did the rest of the lines using Microsoft Paint then proceeded like the rest. after that they were all laid out together on a bigger canvas. the sky in the background it's actually made of two drawings - the lower blue part and the orange top part -- both made with DA Muro then given effects and grouped using Microsoft PowerPoint. the "300" was made using inkscape then given effects using Photoshop. the ground is just a green oval. . . I don't know about you guys but I think I'm the only person who draws like this. I don't know , maybe I'm just weird
I have a feeling that the poll results will be a little skewed. Most people start drawing very young, and all kids think that their drawings are masterpieces. I have a feeling that most people did the first drawing that they were ever proud of in crayon.
you got a good point. But what I meant by the question was the moment you thought the drawing legitimately could pass for professional. you also have a good point about the 'crayon' thing. I should also put 'basic pencil' as well. but I feel that falls under 'traditional color' and 'traditional gray scale'
Wow! I've ever heard of anyone using PowerPoint to draw with. Great going! Way to use whatever is handy!
I also use Microsoft PowerPoint to make my puppets for my videos. each limb can be reshaped and moved around to fit all my needs. it's like flash but even more simpler.
thank you. But all my styles have a few things in common: smooth lines with rough details and lots of Curves. simple colors with at least one more color blending into it, hard shading with soft lighting, and I typically work with split complementary and androgynous colors, usually bright and/or warm spectrum. if you want to see more of my styles , you can go here -> http://www.everypony.com/threads/pinkie-pie-my-art-style-guinea-pig.19002/
