this might not be breaking news but I've gotten curious. maybe it's just a coincidence or maybe it's saying organized full-scale troll. I don't know. I just think it's strange they're popping up on Brony sites of all things. Has this been seen anywhere else. Just wondering. if you guys find any developments please let me know.
I haven't seen these in the few pony sites I go on-but considering only two of the sites are pretty active, I'm not sure I'm the best to input knowledge.
No, and I'm still loling because I just finished an hero's of the storm game where a guy thought my warlords wolf mount was the free horse mount. How the *squee!* can't you tell the difference between a horse and wolf. My mind is just *squee!*ed.
No, I've never made a fake account. On other forums, I've seen other members make fake accounts for trolling/spam.
as a matter of fact, I was going to make that one of the options but there was no room. how are these spam bots getting through its the question.
strange. Strange how people don't want to be associated with the things that they are spaming. Trolling, on the other hand, I can see why people want to remain anonymous.
I've made a lot of fake accounts-usually for pranking friends and good fun. It's always in jest, and I don't usually do that for forums. I prefer to follow the rules and not get banned. I also make spam accounts for, well, spam. I'm the idiot that signs up for a lot of things-and I once used my personal account. I got spammed. HARD. So-now I have at least 2 accounts created for sign-up purposes.
We get a lot of bots turn up here, most of which do try to fumble their way into the site,.posing as members but we've got protection and scans for that sort of thing. The checks we run are enough to keep the worst out. And then start making a game about shoting them down.
Report that to law enforcement. It is a crime to spam, depending on severity and content of said spam.
