I promise that I'm not exclusively going to post on the LGBT threads here, but those are the ones that just seem to draw me out the most right off the bat because Gender and Orientation issues are close to my heart. I am biologically female, genderqueer (regardless of how I appear,) and pansexual. I like being in a place where I can call Biohazardjonny my partner instead of my husband and not feel like that's going to bring down serious scrutiny. Sure, he's male and I'm female, but there's so much more to what we share than I feel typical gender pronouns express. ANYWAY, that is probably more for the "T" thread than the LGBT thread. ^_^; I saw someone here talking about how many bisexuals are probably pansexual and just don't know the term. I think that's almost definitely the case. With such gender diversity in the world I think it's an important distinction, though I do tend to default to using the term bisexual for simplicity's sake more often than I like to admit.
That's just awful! :c I just hope it wasn't the other teachers or faculty that were doing it; not that it's good for anybody to do it, of course. I'm so glad that you feel you can utilize these threads to feel comfortable and to express yourself freely. :3
That's good to hear; people who behave like that deserve to be pulled aside and taught why what they did was wrong.
Almost everybody, on this site is accepting and tolerating of almost any trait of a human being, especially things like sexuality. I guess I've only just addressed the nagging voice in my head that has been telling me for quite a while that a bunch of tolerant people telling each other why tolerance works is slightly redundant. We could be here all day and all week discussing why we shoudn't judge other people, but ultimately that's not doing anything if we all agree. I'm not making a scene of anything, I'm merely sharing my thoughts. Perhaps it would be of more use to share what we believe with people who aren't so open minded. Not that anyone is doing anything wrong in this thread, perhaps it's just worth considering. I don't know, what do I know.
I guess I'm glad that your community is fairly tolerant to begin with; it's good that it's come to the point that it doesn't even matter if people are different from each other or not. Also: I don't know if I fully understand who you are addressing when you talk about the topic of hate. Are you addressing people who are being hateful or are you addressing us? It may seem redundant to discuss tolerance amongst ourselves, but it's important to have community. With community comes numbers and in numbers comes strength. Finally, in strength comes the ability to go out and create positive or negative change. With the way the Pony communities work, I know we will make positive change in the world. :3
I have long since come to the conclusion some people enjoy the physical and mental act of creating dislike towards others. Perhaps it brings them some form of enjoyment? I can't speak for them.
Some people care because they think it will ruin this country (somehow). Others care because they think marriage is "holy" and should only be between a man and a woman. Others care because they are religious and want to "save" us. Still others just think we're disgusting and weird for obvious reasons. All of them are wrong. Also, figures show that roughly 49% of Americans think being gay is bad. 99% of Kenyans and others in third world countries think its bad. So at least I don't live there am I right?
In certain countries, you're executed for being gay. So hey, just comes to show ya how much people suck.
Exactly why this world terrifies me sometimes. Also, Sunburn, marriage gives you the legal right to adopt a child together, to share health insurance, to visit each other in the hospital if one of you is critically ill, and you share taxes as well.
Don't you understand what I mean when I say soooo~ Never do it now~ Never-- Oh, right, time to post in the thread! What was I supposed to post again? Bah! Doesn't matter! I'll say what I've said hundreds of times, my friends. You can't change others, you can only change yourself, maybe give a shove in the right direction. Of course, coming from me, this may not mean much, but hey, I can throw humour into a situation whenever I feel like it. So... CHIMICHANGAS! Oh, now I remembuh! In certain states, they have the right to prevent you from adopting a child if you're a gay couple (It's either 32-35 states.). Certain places also have the right to refuse you service if you're gay, too. Restaruants, Hair Salons, You name it. Most have the authority to refuse you service. Enjoy knowing this piece of information. ...I'm seriously considering going someplace where I probably shouldn't. Canada. ...DAMN. America is practically SCREAMING Don't come outta the closet! Praise Thee, O Flag of America. At least it isn't illegal to burn you~ I love bashing on my own kind. It makes me feel great, knowing flaws that people refuse to see. Not like anyone cares what I think. It's an opinion, and nothin' more. Call me cynical, whatevah. It's a sad, but true, fact that people can be cruel, as can governments, laws, and yourself, too. Never let your guard down for an instant, because then you might get a knife in your back that you won't be able to get out. There are only 3 people I trust with my life, and even then, I can't even trust myself sometimes. Of course, knowing people, most of them are out for their own hides, and are willing to cut you down to size if you get in their way. I'm going, of course, by experience, as both a recipient and a Donor of that. Nobody is innocent, really. We've all done things we regret, but bein' gay or bi or whatevah shouldn't be something you regret, and other people telling you it's wrong is the problem.
I might as well toss in my 2 bit's worth. To be perfectly blunt, I am NOT supportive of the LGBT agenda. Not at all. My own sense of morality and right and wrong tells me that man was meant for woman, woman was meant for man, and that is the sum and total of all biologically valid combinations. All others are meaningless from a biological perspective, and contrary to the teachings of the god that I believe in. (I believe in god alone, but do not believe in or follow any religion, just to get that out of the way.) However, while I am not supportive of the LGBT agenda, I am also not hostile toward it or those who support it. I firmly believe in the principle of "live and let live" and what you do with or to other adults of your own free will and mutual consent, out of my sight, is entirely your own business, not mine. I have no wish to be exposed to sexual content that I am not a part of. Not in print, not in movies, not in fanfics, not on forums, and not in public, regardless of whether that content is straight, gay, or "other". Ted Nugent said it best: "Explicit sex, it ain't my cup of tea, unless of course, it's happening to me." While I'm on the general subject, I wish to express my lack of enthusiasm (to put it mildly) for fanfics, fan art, what have you, which suggests or implies a sexual content (be it straight, gay, or "other") in any MLP FiM related content. I find that any such content or implied content of that nature is entirely contrary to the fundamental character of the show. It is a show that has zero sexual content, deliberately and by design, and I view such "racy content" as being offensive from the mindset of a person who chooses to believe that the MLP canon content is the model to be adhered to, to the largest extent possible. Any fan generated content should fit canon or at least not conflict with canon content and situations. But that is strictly my own opinion. I find such "cloppable" material to be as inappropriate, disturbing and non-canon as the infamous "Cupcakes" story by Grimdark.
Wow, that is just intolerable... America's supposed to be a bright star in the world, and it turns itself into a country of anti-gay tolerance. There are several shops and stuff around my area that refuse the service of gays/bis/lesbians for some stupid reason. It's even worse when some of the people at my school are like this, even the TEACHERS do this. Heck, if anyone picks on a person who is gay/bi/lesbo, they'll have one buck of a time standing back up when they meet me... I can't stand crap like that. It really makes me wonder whether or not our world really has a heart, and if it does, then where is the love in that heart?
OBJECTION! (Oh man, that's really fun to say, Mrahaha!) Ah, the old Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve argument. Can't please em all! I'm a Christian, mind you, and LGBT is NOT an Agenda. They aren't siphoning your money or using it for their pockets. It's a movement to stop all of these ignorant dastards from being ignorant dastards, if you know what I mean. Sure, you don't like gay people. Is that any reason to insult them and make them kill themselves? Fanon is Fanon! It exists for a reason, my friend. I'm not supportive of Sexual Content eithah, and quite frankly, the legality of it confuses me. (Then again... Nah.) But people can, and SHOULD be able to put what they want to on the internet, whether it be of questionable origins or no. Only thing I can think of is Bomb Sites, y'know, the ones where people go to learn how to build Pipe bombs. (I prefer Grenades, Myself!) I have already expressed my severe dislike of Shipping, but hey, it's a story, not real life. Cupcakes is nothing but words on your computer. If you're disturbed by it, think "The only place this happens in is in Friday the 13th or something like that." (Or better yet, ignore it.) KATANA-RAMA! "There is no place for joy or happines... in this world..." -Devdan (Danved?) As the wise man has spoken, there are going to be no COMPLETELY Tolerable people in the world. To quote Jin Kazama; "What have the Religions, Governments, Races, and people of this world accomplished? Up until now, people were afraid of those in control, and were ruled with an Iron Fist." The Religions have scarred the Earth, (Israel and Palistan or whatever it's called) Governments have killed people, (Communism/Capitalism, oh Happy Days!), Races have alienated others, (Racism, Derp.) and People have ruined lives. (People kill each other.) Screw the rules. I have my humanity and dignity. That's all I need.
I look up to my father and tell him, "I want to be someone important, daddy." He looks down upon me and says "Good luck with that. Nobody is important." Puzzled, I ask, "Whad'ya mean?" He answers, "Everyone, whether they're the president or some bum on the street, has a right to voice their opinion. Whether we live or die a great man or woman is entirely up to us. We've got to live up to the standards set by those above us. That's how the world works." Determined, I answer "I want to change that." He frowns, and says to me, "Kid, you have to understand... people don't change because you tell them to. They change on their own." WHOA MAN! Where did THAT come from? Oh yeah, that's right. I made it up, and that's what I'm gonna tell my kid when s/he asks me that question. Because everyone does, at one point.
장난 성가시게하니? 옛 소련 시대의 포스터처럼 보이는 ... Like I said before. Everyone has an opinion. Nobody is "Free". There are always bounds to what "Freedom" is. True freedom is something mankind will never experience, because there are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Many people in this planet with Superiority complexes...
Having read your post I simply have to say: Who cares? So what if its against Biology. Buck Biology. Seriously, I hate that guy. How many times has man defied Biology? What is the entire point of technology and science? So we can beat nature. And there is no gay agenda, unless you consider seeking acceptance and the legality to marry a gay agenda.
I loathe double posting but: I presume you didn't like my poster? Shame. I love that poster, its existentialist, like me. I think its true, man. All meaning is self-made. I can be WHATEVER I want. So can you. I can change the world if I want, and so can you. I can be great if I want, and so can you. Because life is subjective. If life has no meaning, all that means is that we are FREE to create OUR OWN meaning in life. And I'm NOT saying freedom in context of the law. Because world leaders, because those with superiority complexes as you call them, can't do JACKSQUAT. You can live however YOU want. You have COMPLETE AND TOTAL freewill. Who cares what anyone else says? You are you, what right do they have to tell you what to do? Everyone is free. They just have to realize it.
