what about when cap was a werewolf for like a month? and he was called capwolf. like this is issue one of a new series, it's functionally a new character. the series before ended with a place called paradise hill with a altered reality cap, they could totally just be rolling with that also. don't let yourself be trolled by a single panel on imgur without knowing the context.
The context is that this is Cap. According to the new comic, Steve Rogers and his mother were helped by a woman who was a part of Hydra years before Steve was part of the super soldier project. The story presents Cap as having been a Hydra double agent all along. It's not a new character, it's an insulting and slanderous retcon of a character that has been a hero to millions of people across multiple generations. The MCU (Earth-199999) is drastically different than the main comic universe (Earth-616).
what a comic book super hero was was reconnected that's never happened in the last several decades. this is a new thing we should be mad about.
It's not "a superhero." IT'S CAPTAIN *squee!*ING AMERICA!!! He's been a hero to millions of children, teens, and adults for SEVENTY-FIVE *squee!*ING YEARS! He's always, ALWAYS, ALWAYS stood against fascism and tyranny, and now this gutless, brainless, soulless PIECE OF *squee!* is deciding to make him a *squee!*ING NAZI! AS A MOTHER*squee!*ING POLITICAL STATEMENT! *squee!* Nick Spencer. *squee!* Marvel for letting this happen. *squee!* Stan Lee for agreeing with it, but most of all, *squee!* THE WHINY LITTLE *squee!*ASS LIBERALS WHOSE ANTI-PATRIOTISM, AMERICA-HATING AGENDA LED TO THIS TRAVESTY!!!
It's not a political statement at all. it's all for the attention and buzz. then in the end it wont even matter the arc will end then it'll be a new thing like it never happened. no hidden agenda here just a bad writer being a bad writer.
I know I just wanted to point that out. I call BS. Cap be it Rodgers or Wilson are always being used for Political statements. Rogers tends to quit being cap under republican presidents. Wilson is still cap but he cut his ties with the government over the crap going on. Cap is the one comic book character that has been and will always be a tool of propaganda. Doesn't mean the stories can't be good, but it does mean you're fooling yourself if you don't think politics are involved.
except the part where nick spencer himself is saying stuff like he loves the back lash and is thriving on it. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articl...-turned-steve-rogers-into-a-supervillain.html I'm not saying there isn't a lot of politics, but this case it just seems for attention. like what would the political statement be anyway? yay nazis?
You're forgetting that Spencer is a (failed) politician. http://web.archive.org/web/20050307195611/http://www.spencer2005.com/blog/
Is this a massive outrage because of another tame character's 'true' face has been revealed by Marvel?
AMVs from the past are generally pretty bad by today's standards (for example, the ones made with Windows Movie Maker with Evanescence and Linkin Park all over the place), but this is a huge exception.
I repeat Rogers Cap is always being used for Political Statements, and seems like Ridley found the one for this story line.
what's the political statement then? Hydra doesn't really have any sympathetic aspects to it. they are just bad guys.
extreme liberal bias? I'll admit, they probably shouldn't have made Red Skull a stand-in for Trump, he's certainly not that bad. but Cap himself is a rather liberal, according to the literal definitions
True, he is what you'd call a moderate liberal, but he's always tried to the right thing. That's what he's always been about. Now, we have him talking about how Jack Flag is a hero... before tossing him out of a plane.
.....could you link to the website where you read the comic? that doesn't sound like Cap. I need to read this to believe it.....
