Community Post #158 Older members might remember that I tried building an Everypony game once. That was an RPG based around the staff and the members of the time, squaring off against the characters of the RP section. At the time, it looked like a fun little idea to try and build. Ha! I can't believe I thought I'd have a shot at it with that kind of scope and idea. At the time, I was already building an RPG system for my university coursework so I figured I would just finish that then build the Everypony game around that. Well, while I do still have that prototype, I've been trying to come up with a functioning RPG system for years. While also managing my life, the site, finding a job and having large numbers of the planned members that would have appeared in the game as playable character either leave or fade away. It was not a smart idea in hindsight. Thankfully, I'm stupid enough to try again. Though, we're scaling it back this time. The idea this time is to use simple to build with web technologies to make a very simple battle game. And we're going to put it up on this site for you all to play. When it's finished. Hopefully... The premise is simple: You have been tasked with creating a robot pony from scrap parts in order to fight the overflowing tide of spam-bots that attempt to get into Everypony every day. That's the idea of it. Nice and simple and straight-forward for now. We might try adding more later but it's down to a kind of design philosophy/paranoia state right now that we're keeping things as reigned in as possible. Soon, we will have something similar...Sooooon. The one thing that can kill a project like this is burnout. You just work and work then give up. Or never bother to begin with. That is tough for something like this that would have to be thrown together by a bunch of amateurs between their real jobs. And so, we're looking to keep this as simple and achievable as possible for now. Still got to build the damn thing. Anyway, I'll try posting updates when new things turn up or something worth talking about pops up. For now, it's time for all the cool stuff you're all doing. - Recommended Reading - Ah! The Everypony game does sound good. I've played fun flash games like Corruption of Champions and Trials in Tainted Space. If it holds mechanics similar to that, then I may have some interest. Though JRPG style games are fun for me too. I wouldn't of loved FFX if I didn't like RPGs.
I am familiar with both of those games, so I'm going to put up the disclaimer that you should have. BOTH OF THE AFOREMENTIONED GAMES ARE HORRIBLY NSFW. FOR THE SAKE OF YOUR SANITY, AVOID THEM AT ALL COSTS.
He is referring to the first two games I mentioned, not FFX. Though I would laugh if there was a AO version. My bad, Ridley. Though I wasn't going to link people to those games. That would be a bad idea.
I've played CoC too. It's um...Indestribable on here but pretty enjoyable. The idea of morphing the character in someway to complete objectives is unique. Fox demon for the win. And yeah, superdooper NSFW or players under a certain age (though will want to play it more having said that). The plan isn't quite the same. I'll explain in the next post.
It's fine and lol. Someone enjoys that game as much at me. Experimentation in CoC is pretty fun. It's pretty open ended in that aspect, provided a number of ways you could enhance yourself... some more lude than others. X3
Experimentation is a powerful mechanic in any game. Boom! Instant replay value for anyone interested in seeing everything. Messing with different play styles and tranformation combinations is the entire point of the game in terms of where you end up in the end. If I remember correctly, you can import your save data and get a visual representation of your character letting you actually see what your character looks like. Ought be implemented into the actual thing. Some people are willing to put a lot of effort into porn.
CoC was never finished, actually. He started a new project and it sorta got left in the dust. ...Or so I've heard.
Actually I think it's mostly done being fixed up. The last update they did for CoC I think is for the final boss if I'm not wrong. I've not played all the way to the end but I think so. The one being worked on right now is... uhm... the abbreviation is more suggestive than the full title. Trials in Tainted Space. Yeah...
lol Okay, you got me there~ But seriously, I guess I'm just trying to be mindful about NSFW things. It's kinda weird for me, but on here... I tend to keep myself under more control. Or at least I try to. Then again, a site temp ban does that to you.
