It's not so much making it hard to be racist, but hard not to stereotype. I mean if your dress properly I'm not going to watch you anymore than I do anyone else. If you're wearing saggy pants, or have a bandanna worn like Tupac I'm going to watch you like a hawk, doesn't matter what color you are. I mean when I'm at work.
It's especially hard not to stereotype when you spend your days with the worst element of a particular ethnic group. I mean, I understand that most Mexicans are decent people, but the ones I deal with on the job are the worst of the worst. They're rude, they're dirty, half of them are illegal, most don't speak English, and more than a few of them are thieves. It gets harder every day to make the mental separation between the good and the bad. I mean, I've never thought of myself as a racist person, but I'm worried that I might end up turning into one if something doesn't change.
