When Rainbow Dash visits the Daring Do convention in Manehattan, she meets a pony, Quibble pants, who thinks Daring Do's stories are just fantasies.
Well, here we go again!! Back in the groove!!! Oh, the parallels to the show's own fandom!! I was honestly waiting for Quibs to say he's leaving the fandom!! No such utterance but I digress. A DASHIE AND DARING DO EPISODE!!! What a ride!! We get "that guy" who thinks he knows everything and eventually realizes it's OK to have differing opinions as long as you respect others'. A good lesson for kids and bronies alike. It's just too bad that the network had to basically show the entire episode across all those promos. Anygoo, TIDBITS!!! Creepy "tied up DD" pillow, random Ranma cutout, Derpalleron, and the coup de gras... PLENTY of Dashie and DD awesomeness to go around!!! I think this just tied Slice of Life as my favorite episode!! Also, being a princess really sucks sometimes, eh, Sparky? Overall: HELL YEAH/10!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also, the shippers are now armed with some MAJOR artillery!!!
I loved this episode! Quibble was an ok-character. I also think there should be more Daring Do episodes, they're very entertaining. Ten outta ten!
Finally, I get to see an episode of S6 the day it airs! Well, not on TV anyway, MLP airs at around 6 AM here, but still! Spoiler: Snape kills Dumbledore What did I think of this episode? Well, I think it's pretty damn good. Even better than Flutter Brutter. This episode serves as an excellent satire of (and love letter to) not only the brony fandom, but fandom in general. It's clear that the writers knew how fandoms tick. The parallels between Quibble pants and several in our fandom, and in other fandoms as well (looking at you, Star Wars and Transformers), are astonishing. And of course it becomes hilarious when we remember that Daring Do is based on a true story. It's tantamount to finding out that Steven Spielberg is an archeologist in his spare time. Speaking of Quibble pants, he's an alright character. He kinda reminded me of the Nostalgia Critic in a way. I also just love how genre-savvy he is, even when he does learn that the danger is real. The villain Cabelleron (I apologize if I misspelled that) was decent for what he was, if generic. Also, what's with his accent? He sounded somewhere between Russian and Italian. And of course Rainbow Dash is badass and adorable as ever. Also, poor Twilight. She missed the convention because of political stuff. Guess that's what happens when you become a Princess. Overall, I rate this episode Branston Pickle/10. (Bonus points if you get that reference.)
Thoughts below in spoilers as always. Spoiler Quite the return for this show. We get another Daring Do episode!! Something was quite obvious in this one. They were clearly using this to make 'statements' about the brony fandom. At least in the sense that there are also those within this fandom who complain as much about this show as Quibble did about the Daring Do books. The obvious example being those who say that 'this season was the best' or 'the other seasons past this season are bad' and stuff like that. I'm not immune from this either. I'll admit I can sometimes complain to much. However it's never about 'seasons' for me. It's always about certain things they decide to do. Anyway, the obvious fandom statement aside, this was a pretty hilarious episode. Patton Oswalt fit the character perfectly. It was quite hilarious and Rainbow Dash being her Daring Do fan-self all over again was good to see again. The Quibble instances were pretty funny and hilarious too sometimes. Especially when he kept insulting Caballeron and continued to not believe it was real. This was just an overall fun episode with a good statement when it comes to fandoms. We shouldn't argue about when it was good or what 'season's' we like. We all like the show for our own reasons and arguing about it really the best way to go about it. We just all like it in a certain way. Great start for the return from hiatus with a great episode.
Appledash agree with you completely I just hate people who think that the stories and places aren't real and not just fantasy but from their perspective I can see what they mean overall this episode it was amazing especially the concept and idea they used

It was a great episode Josh Haber and Micheal Vogel brought there all with this one using two fans who have different opinions in a series one prefers the smart side and the other prefers the action side and I love how they use both of those together it was amazing and see my new character it was memorable overall especially the return of dr. Caballero and other awesome references from other episodes including that fanboy anyway what did you guys think of it I want to know you I want to know your comments and opinions right here
Yeah, I get that it was an obvious parody of a typical con, but the BDSM themed love pillow may have been a bit much.
