Closing forum games on CG was petty, Jewel. Sorry, but that's really the only word I can think of to describe it.
It proved a pretty good point though, no one cared a damn about any other part of the forum and that is not the type of community I wanted to build so I closed it. Big whoop! Its open again after I figured the forum was dying anyway. I should have started the forum without a forums game section to begin with.
It's kinda hard to start a community if people don't know it exists. CG is pretty much impossible to find unless you know it's there.
If you Google "my little pony forums". CG is nowhere to be found.... So yeah, it's pretty tough to find it.
I only have so many things to talk about, other people could have taken the initiative to start topics.
Before you guys say "oh it can't be found so no one will join" let me tell you for the millionth time, familiarize yourself how browser crawler bots work, lack of activity = low page rankings. I had asked multiple times for current users to take initiative to post and be more active and people agreed, those people that agreed only helped for one day then stopped being as active, now I understand they dont have the time to be on all the time but don't agree to something then not do it. Becasue of this the forum is ranked low and put on the very high page numbers meaning less people will find it, I paid for advertisement and did everything I could and it helped very little. The forum was also riddled with lots of people going "*hugs n stuff*" Rarely was there any type of conversation whatsoever and that only drove away anyone that did by any chance find the forum.
Speaking just for myself, I realized a long time ago that it was kinda hard to be on more than one forum for the same fandom. Even when friendshipismagic.org (my first forum) was relaunched, I found it very hard to reconnect after I'd basically made EP my home forum. Seems like once I said what I had to say over here, it was really difficult to discuss the same topic elsewhere without simply copying and pasting my thoughts. Maybe that's petty, maybe it's lazy, who knows? Point is, I don't think the members of EP have intentionally abandoned CG. It just kinda... happened.
Its not just members of EP I had my own members that just up and dissapeared, my co owners are never on anymore either.
Didn't he say he has college or something now. I asked him in his ask me. Your two hired mods disappeared too. I haven't seen either of them here much either.
