    Yeah, I'm alive, just a bit shaken (excuse the pun). Unfortunately, the southern half of the country isn't doing so good. 2 deaths, as far as I know, but plenty of structural damage.

    Yeah, there's aftershocks every couple minutes, most very minor (less than ~4 on the scale) Not as bad as the South Island though. It's possible another big one could come at anytime, but unlikely.
    No damage as far as I know where I am, I think I'm too far north.

    7.8 Earthquake, and hundreds of aftershocks all over the country.
