    I definitely agree with that. These communications technologies all are hugely influential on the rest of society and how we do things.

    Speech -> Writing -> Printing Press -> Telegraph -> Phonograph -> Radio -> Telephone -> Television/Film -> Internet -> ??
    Something like that.
    Is there even a way to forward in communications from what the Internet can provide?

    The internet allows for audio, visual, and text communication in an instant.
    The only way I can think to go forward from there would either be the electronic transmission of tactile and olfactory data, or possibly the instantaneous transmission of thought itself.

    Apologies. I died for a while.

    I really like the idea of this. I've been thinking along a similar line for years.
    In one of the episodes of the Ricky Gervais show with Karl Pilkington, Karl mentions his lack of vocabulary and inability to describe how things feel to a doctor.
    9:28 to about 10:45 is the most relevant bit.
    I remember thinking about this sorta thing when I was a kid.

    When it comes to transferring thoughts, though, you'd have to train your brain. Like, when I imagine someone being able to read my mind, it instantly goes to things that I wouldn't want someone to see me thinking about, like sex or illegal things and such. Comparable to taking a video and taking a picture, you'd probably need to be able to take a snapshot of your relevant thoughts, rather a stream of thought.

    Yes! The Ricky Gervais show also touches upon an idea like this. We're getting closer like with personal assistants and the like.

    The name sounded familiar, and upon looking it up, it looks very familiar. I want to say that my brother or a friend had it. I don't think I played it for long, and don't remember much about it.

    On a side note: Does anyone else encounter really frustrating text cursor movement? Especially when backspacing and doing text formatting. It's been happening since moving to XenForo, but I ignored it. Writing multi-paragraph pieces is infuriating.
