"Always. Present arms!" Raven shredded out a fast, complicated solo, reminiscent of something one would hear from a speed metal band, but all acoustic.
The knives caused the wraiths struck by them to slow and stumble, but not fall. It seemed like nothing short of total destruction or decapitation would stop the creatures. ********************************************************************** Rose pulled a small vial and tossed it to Navaja. "Essence of dragonfire. Coat your blades. She then whistled sharply, calling for her dogs. Who were totally around this whole time. And I absolutely didn't forget existed. ************************************************************************ Galahad charged in with his claymore, cleaving the nearest wraith neatly in two, then quickly leapt back as two more moved in with jaws open wide to take a bite. He cursed. He and Navaja were vulnerable to the creature's venom. They'd have to be careful. ************************************************************** Nightshade dove low under the belly of the largest wraith, then shot her wings upward, tearing it in two. "Az, can you use a partial soul?"
He smirked and nodded. "Not bad," he admired, "but let's see what you make of this.~" Pulling out his acoustic, he played something equally intricate, but at a slower pace. Quick chord changes, and amazing hoofpicking, however one would do that in Equestria.
"Mayhaps. Why?" Azrael spun around, backhoofing one of the wraiths in the teeth hard enough to shatter its head just before it reached him. He then grabbed onto the head of one that tried to charge him from the front, wrenching, snapping its icy neck, causing it to shatter. Navaja thought fast, using his blades to slice the vial out of the air, the liquid coating his blades nicely. He then leapt high into the air, coming down onto the back of an ice wraith, eyes widening as it melted quickly beneath him. ~~~~~~~~ "Oh, no..." Raven smirked. "What ever will I do about this? Oh yeah, that's right." Raven returned an equally more complex, but far more aggressive solo, very Metallica-y.
"Oh, I see how it is.~" He decided to follow suit and instead play something also akin to extreme metal, employing techniques such as sweep picking, unison bends and other sounds that wouldn't normally sound decent on an acoustic guitar, but did in this case.
"Asking a minor to sell you alcohol?" She shook her head, taking a pint of cider from tap. "Tsk tsk."
Nightshade nodded, tossing a crystal grenade into the open jaws of the nearest wraith. "Use mine." ******************************************************* Rose's dogs, Zeus and Loki, knocked several wraiths to the floor as they ran to her side. "Good boys." She tossed them each a treat coated with more dragonfire essence, which coated their teeth as they wolfed them down. "Now... kill." **************************************************************************** Galahad took the opportunity to finish the wraiths the dogs had knocked down. Ten remained, as well as the two maddeningly quick and agile wraithhounds.
Asmo rolled his eyes. "You horses are no fun." ~~~~~~ "Guess there's no arguing with you?" Azrael guessed, sapping a small bit of Nightshade's soul for a long few seconds. After a moment, he took a deep breath and fired a generic energy beam, blasting an ice wraith that was charging him from the front to pieces, along with two more behind it. Navaja did a quick spin, slashing the throats of two wraiths that were approaching from either side, and falling back to all fours as they soon quickly became puddles of liquid water. "Heheh. Me gusta."
Rose's dogs quickly caught the wraithhounds, tearing the hapless creatures apart in a rather brutal fashion. ******************************************************************** Nightshad shrugged, twisting a wraith's head from its body. "I don't feel any different. Looks like it's safe to do that again." She pried open the jaws of the disembodied wraith head she was holding, and placed a grenade inside before closing the mouth. With a grin, she tossed the explosive body part in between a pair of approaching wraiths. They bent over to inspect the head just as he grenade went off. ******************************************************************************* Galahad took another wraith's head, and squared off with the last one. "Wait!" Rose shouted. "I need this one." The little vampire produced four sharp silver stakes, and drove one into the wraith's ankle, pinning it to the floor. She swiftly repeated the process with the next stake, and then the next. Withing moments, the snarling creature was nailed spread eagle to the floor.
"No need." Azrael closed his eyes, absorbing souls from the hounds. When all was said and done, he reopened his eyes, a light glow flashing over them for a brief moment before fading. "It seems these dogs have feral souls I can drain." Navaja turned to face Rose and the last wraith, genuine confusion on his face. "What are you doing, if I may ask?"
"Research," she replied calmly, collecting a pinkish fluid oozing from the wounds into test tube. She poured a powdery substance into the tube and sniffed it, then frowned and shook her head. She glanced over at Loki, who was lapping at the liquefied remains of a wraith. "Don't drink that." She frowned again. "Wait... really? Come here, Loki." The dog trotted over to her, tail wagging. She pulled his mouth open and filled another tube with the dog's drool, then added more of the powder. "Hmm... not quite." Producing another stake from under her cloak, she walked up to Nightshade an pricked her leg, collecting the blood in a small vial. She then added several drops of the blood to the tube, as well as bit more of the wraith's ichor. She gave the mixture a sniff, then poured the whole mess into a silver flask full of a foul-smelling liquid. "Maybe..." After shaking the flask for a few seconds, she poured a measure of the contents into two small cups and gave them to Navaja and Galahad. "Drink."
