I guess SOPA and PIPA were not enough. Cooperations really do not want us to have any privacy at all. It's a fool's errand to try and attack the internet like this. They know we will fight back, why *squee!*ing bother desolving net neutrality anyway?

I hate to be that guy, but this is really old news. They've already overturned Internet privacy laws, it's only a matter of time before net neutrality goes away too. And unlike last time, they're going to ignore us no matter how hard we fight.

    2020 can't come fast enough.

At this point, I really cannot be mad at you for being that guy. It's honestly true. I really am not happy about this, but nothing can be done now. Especially since we are being lead by a guy who thinks carpet bombing Syria with tomahawk missiles was great idea.

I hate to be "that guy" as well, but a tiny oligarchy calls all of the shots regardless of which party is in power. Even if the Democrats come back in 2020, nothing fundamental will change. The end of online privacy is simply the logical conclusion of draconian legislation that has enjoyed bipartisan support for a number of years, viz. the PATRIOT Act. A future "Internet of Things" has the potential to make cars, household appliances, etc. into the equivalent of Orwellian telescreens.

I do find it richly amusing that the loss of privacy and civil liberties the "experts" told us would happen under communism (it has never actually existed, but expanding on that would constitute going off on a tangent) are in fact happening under capitalism.
