So very recently, North Korea has just decide carried out another ballistic missile test, days after a new president took office in the South. The president of South Korea, new president Moon Jae-in, has expressed that while South Korea remains open to the possibility of dialogue with North Korea, it is only possible when the North shows a change in attitude. China, the North's only real ally in the region, had called for restraint by "all relevant parties". While in Russia, Vladimir Putin was concerned by the test. Along with American-North Korean relations having always been extremely low, President Trump has called for "stronger sanctions" and is being far more assertive then any other president. Which, depending on your point of view, is either a good or bad thing. So guys. Let's just think of what's gonna happen to North Korea. Are we ever going to do something about it? Stand idle and wait til it's too late? Or let fate decide the Korean Peninsula and East Asian future.
I'll start worrying when and if it ever looks like North Korea is a credible threat. Their missiles don't work. Their army is poorly-equipped and poorly-trained. Much like China, military training in North Korea focuses heavily on party loyalty, as opposed to actual combat preparedness. Yeah, they put on a good show, parading down the streets with their Soviet-era weapons and artillery, but that's all they can do. Basically, the Korean People's Army is nothing more than an armed marching band led by a crazy fat kid.
Eh. It's plainly obvious that North Korea will not do *squee!*. It's just all media fear mongering. Though the march they featured was not even related to a warning of war. It was a celebration march for the first of the leaders that brought North Korea where it is now. Though aggression by US forces could still trigger some form of battle, if not a full blown war. With all the *squee!*ery going on with US involvement in the Syrian struggle, anything is possible at this point.
