About half a page ago or so, I thought about mentioning that I was eating ice cream while reading everyone's responses to the news in the Post article. I decided not to, since it could easily be misconstrued as a "pass the popcorn" moment. Misconstrue away.
"The story that came out tonight as reported is false," H.R. McMaster, Trump's national security adviser, told reporters at the White House, adding that the leaders reviewed a range of common threats including to civil aviation. That's my bloody response. A quote from the story wherein a White House official denies it happened. And again, I fail to see what that has to do with you.
1: Do you really think they would admit it? Of course they would deny it dude, to blindly believe a statement from the people involved is a clear sign of you drinking the koolaid. Did Nixon come out and say "I recorded every oval office conversation and I ordered the CIA to break into Watergate"? No. Did Bill Clinton admit to having sexual relations with that woman? No. 2: http://www.reuters.com/article/us-usa-trump-russia-idUSKCN18B2MX and no matter how you feel about anonymous sources, Reuters is one of the most reliable news groups in existence and cannot simply be brushed off 3: what does it matter if it applies to him? This is a Trump thread, and free speech is a thing. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and their ability to voice it.
That's the thing, though. He didn't voice an opinion. He posted a Muppet video clip. Had he made an attempt at expressing a serious thought, I'd have posted a serious reply.
You seem to be incredibly insecure about trying to refute information from various intellectuals among the group. I find it even funnier that you're specifically attacking me because I'm foreign and that you're 'totally logical' about avoiding some questions just because you think you're in the right. You are being a bully. And nobody likes a bully. Stop it.
You know Trump tweeted that, yes he did give classified info to Russia? He confirmed it. He is not even trying to hide that he is trying to be an authoritarian dictator. In essence, he just said, "Screw you, I do what I want. " The white house denying it is the fake news. Don't blindly defend him because you voted for him. If you truly believe that you are patriotic and that giving secrets to the Russians is okay, I cannot understand you. That right there requires cognitive dissonance that I am not willing to do. And he also may have broken the law. Again. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Executive_Order_13526 One more thing. Isn't the mishandling of classified information exactly why people were upset at Hillary's email server? Why is it okay when Trump knowingly does it? But wait! There's more! Now Trump had tweeted for Comey to find the people leaking information. He fired Comey last week... Senility or dementia possibly being shown? I hold the president to a higher standard. Forgetting that you fired the Head of the FBI is distressing to say the least.
It seems that Trump's support among whites without a college degree is taking a hit. Even the demographic that strongly backed him during the election is starting to erode (it also shows the limitations of pandering to identity politics, even the right-wing variants of it). Vulgar mythomania, scapegoating, and getting embroiled in scandals neither brings back quality jobs not puts food on one's table.
No, its pretty clear youre attacking him as a straw man. Youre blantantly ignoring the cold hard facts saying that yes, Trump has f'ed up, BAD and choosing to attack someone for posting a freaking reaction video because it best described how he felt without going into detail (plus its crim, those kinds of posts are his bread and butter). Ridley, take a moment and realize what youre doing. Youve spent 3 or 4 posts getting mad at Crim for being Australian and for posting a reaction and ignoring everything else happening in the thread because its all bad news for "your guy". Dude, if is okay to admit youre wrong. Absolutely no one will think less of you for saying "You know what? This is bad and it needs to be properly investigated to ensure our president is held responsible for his actions, or to clear his name if nothing is the problem". However, what youre doing with your strawmanning and attacking of someone who has absolutely no reason to be attacked will get people against you. https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/864436162567471104 and https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/864438529472049152 exact. I wouldnt say he directly confirmed it, but in Trumpian lingo, yes he confirmed it. McConnell's "people who have been called grossly neglegent should not have access to classified data" comes to mind https://twitter.com/realDonaldTrump/status/864452996129853444 proof
Getting ridiculous? Dude, it was ridiculous from the get-go. It's only within the past few pages that it's escalated to "snack-guzzling onlooker" levels of silliness.
I'm not defending him because I voted for him. I'm defending him because as long as it looks like he's leading America in the right direction, then I just don't care what else he does. Like I already mentioned, I think a better relationship between the US and Russia is in the best interest of both countries. If Trump wants to foster that relationship by letting the Russians in on a few secrets, then I say fantastic. I mean, it's not like he just handed classified documents to a random servant or anything...
1: That's laughable that you think he's taking America in the right direction. His policies are doing nothing but setting us back. TTP was a response to China's growing influence, he abandoned that. Look at all the environment stuff he's getting rid of for no reason (like how do you explain making it okay to dump coal waste into rivers). His economic policies have been widely demolished by economists and the Congressional Research Office. He attacks our allies for no reason, and almost or still can start a trade war with Canada for no. reason. He has done almost nothing positive in his time in office, and no, his and the republican healthcare plan is not a positive either. 2: Again, why are you so for an alliance with Russia? They are attacking the democratic process throughout the West, they are have troops on the ground supporting rebels in the Ukraine, they are murdering civilians by the dozens with almost every bomb they drop to support a murderous and tyrannical regime in Syria just because they like having a naval base there. They veto almost everything we try to do on the UN Security Council (Oh? What's that? You want to investigate the chemical gas attacks? Veto. Want to condemn Assad for being a dictatorial tyrant? Veto). Their geopolitical goals do not align with ours, and they are in almost open conflict with us, especially in cyber warfare, and you want to cozy up to them? And no, using the sins of the past of the US does not excuse Russia. At all. 3: This was top secret information given to us by an ally who intended it to be for US eyes only, and intelligence officials are warning this ally (it isnt Israel) will cut off further information because of this as they cant trust Trump with the information.
No, I'm annoyed because when I stated an opinion, he posted a stupid video in response. When I made a dismissive reply to his stupid video, he suddenly started whining about something that had absolutely nothing to do with him. Bloody *squee!*ing hell. Like I'm getting kinda *squee!*ing tired of repeating, had he posted an actual coherent thought, then I'd have made the effort to type up a response. But as far as I'm concerned, a reaction video of Kermit the Frog saying "you're wrong" is not worth a response beyond the one I gave.
https://www.washingtonpost.com/worl...d30d00-3a7b-11e7-a59b-26e0451a96fd_story.html So he didn't break a law, but that doesn't mean it's okay. This however - trying to directly influence an investigation... Hmmm... https://www.nytimes.com/2017/05/16/us/politics/james-comey-trump-flynn-russia-investigation.html Also, we have sanctions against Russia still and some in the government want more. Doesn't sound like an ally as you try to refer to them as... http://www.businessinsider.com/senate-new-russia-sanctions-2017-5
