If I'm right and we're talking about Sailor Moon, the bad guys aren't aliens they're demons. Don't really get aliens until the second season and even then that's a filler arc. Oh wait the movie has an alien too. Okay here we go: A family of mercenaries goes around doing odd jobs and sometimes destroys cities in the process.
Mine was actually Fairy Tail. The Guild calls themselves family all the time it's a big part of their beliefs. So much so Natsu once attacked another Guild master for not treating a guild member as family.
