Well: <This guy, right here, was a hardcore Yu-gi-oh fan. <He was watching Yu-gi-oh ever since the air of the first episode in germany (around 2000, i think) <There's no card he didn't know TILL Jaiden Yuki and other GX stuff appeared. That killed Yu-gi-oh for him. Well, I't'd be a good challenge to try and make something like a trading card game, I'd design the cards as in a whole, and I'd need to draw ponies... a lot. Anyway, I don't really think That would work out... too great.

I still remember the cards too. Hmmm.... Have you ever played Xenosaga? In that game, there was a mini-game. It was a trading card game. It was fun, but they took it out in the second one. (Come to think of it... I believe there were some in some FF games as well) Anyways... those mini-game card games had a set number total. They never came out for new ones in the game, so it was like playing one of those flash card games. It would take some time, maybe too much time, but we could make it simple mechanics and make it to where you don't need to make so many cards to play. Like... a kind of puzzle/numbers/something game. Maybe have one of the ponies as a main pony, then you have dice rolls, and... It's getting a little nerdy up in here, no?..... I GOT IT!!! Here's an idea. Spoiler: GREAT IDEA!!! We give up on this. (What did I say, I love using that ) lol, jk But in all seriousness. What about a boardgame?
A pony... board game? Well, anything can be done into a board game... Hell, I even have a friend that did a good Call of Duty custom board game! Personally, i'd stick to trading card games... ...Brainbolt! Why not combine both? Like some kind of Board game based Trading card game? Where the position of your cards affect their effect and stuff?
I was actually inspired by that pc video game about cards and stuff... really HQ and modern, can't remember it's name :S
<Probably the lone dual-masters fan here Sucks, as I had some great cards too - never had much luck with other card games (pokemon, yu gi oh, etc.) but I had quite a stack of super rare cards in Duel Masters, and a pretty good deck. Then just one day the game went poof or something, apparently it's still continued in japan but that doesn't exactly help me here. As for how serious the card game would be, I was just saying as more a joke or gag really, it didn't have to be serious rules with serious states and serious balancing (if you don't want it to be), just a creative idea I haven't seen anyone try yet (I've seen stamps, political campaign posters and even mixed drink recipes, but not trading cards) that could end up getting the site noticed.
"Epic wars between the buffaloes and Ponies" was the theme I was thinking about Anyway, lots of time we'd have to spend to make all cards. I think there was a megaman trading card game where you had only 1 character, but the rest of cards were stuff like "Guns, swords, and ****". Something like that? Well, not swords and stuff, but...
the cards would be digital, right? plus... what if hasbro suddenly decided to milk this fandom, and release their OWN cards?

Well yeah, it'd have to be digital I doubt the market of young girls (who the show is mainly aimed at) is that ripe for trading cards, and it's not like we would be taking them so seriously that it'd matter if they went ahead and did that, if you're not making any money off them it's not a legality issue.
Also, I'm pretty sure an actual trading card game for thaz ponyz wouldn't do as well against a free online one. Not to mention, the real ones cost money. We can even go further as to incorporate the rep/exp system into it. Like you can buy things with rep/exp. Sweet... Your name IS sweet. Why not eat yourself? I'm sure a missing toe isn't anything to miss.
Well at least the art is pretty terrible, and it's from an online generator, but we're not the first to that idea
