Xion: Well, I've worked out the beginnings of the mathmatics required for a device to get me home, but it will still be a long time before I can actually build a working model.
"Think I'd make a good night guard?" Asmo asked after a while. Azrael shook his head. "That is the dumbest... actually... Yes. You're already relying on smell over sight, you can be stealthy by disguising yourself at a moment's notice, you can go loud and destructive if you need to, you set yourself on fire and barely flinched. And I saw bits of how you and Raven handled that wraith. Why?" Asmo shrugged. "No reason, just making conversation."
"I'll be sure to watch either way," Blackened said in response to the potential sparring between Az and Raven. "You know, I bet you would make a pretty decent guard, actually."
"Being a guard can involve a lot of travel," Nightshade replied. "All I have to do is volunteer for the stuff near wherever you are." Silver shrugged. "Your fears are not unfounded, Raven, but I can assure you that the job will not consume her every waking moment. Many guards make time for family and loved ones. Talk to Blackout if you are still concerned." ******************************************************************************************************** Blackheart nodded. "Very well. In that case, would you be interested in working in one of my labs? You may find it more comfortable than a tent in the desert."
"Alright." Raven nodded. "Just... make sure you don't ever forget about us, huh?" ~~~~~~~~~ "That'd be a squash match," Asmo admitted. "Buck. You see what Azzy did to my spine?"
Nightshade chuckled. "Like you'd ever let me." ****************************************************** Blackheart nodded. "I will make the arrangements. You should have a lab ready by the end of the week."
"Can't think of anypony I'd rather follow," Nightshade replied, spreading her wings for the flight home.
Nightshade was one of the fastest pegasi alive. There was no way she was gonna let Raven beat her. "Enjoy the view from behind!"
"Tempting as it is, gonna have to say no!" Raven started flying faster, and faster, and faster, until a sonic boom erupted around her body.
Nightshade arched an eyebrow. A sonic boom from a bat pony in level flight was supposed to be impossible. She took off, using her Whispering Wing technique to augment her flying, and caught up with Raven just above the Ponyville city limits.
"Can't stop the bat train, babe!" Raven adjusted her path, aiming down towards the dojo, letting gravity give her a little speed boost.
Nightshade sighed. "Screw it." She put up a chaos shield around herself and Raven, and the two ponies smashed through the dojo wall together. "OH YEAH!"
Raven landed on her back hard inside the shield, then burst out laughing. Dusty was already inside, having a seat outside the bathroom door. Calmly, he asked, "What took you two?" ~~~~~~~~~~~~~ @Blackened Blue After some time, Az had his smokes, and the group was on the train. With some coercion of the engineer, they were well on their way to Ponyville.
