We're planning a few things behind the scenes so don't think we're taking a break too soon! Of course, ideas and input are always welcome so feel free to post your ideas, because in the end we wouldn't be the great place we are without you fillies and gentlecolts! [size=+4]EVERYPONY SECRET SANTA HOOVES![/size] 'Tis the season to be jolly, to share good will and show that we have the elements of kindness and generosity within us all! Therefore we're opening up the chance for a secret santa, simply post below if you'd like to join in the chance! Here's how it goes: 1. You enter your name in a PM to yours truly (Foxytail)! 2. We put all the names into a list. 3. Using the random number God (also known as chance) we pick a giver and a receiver! 4. On the 1st December, we tell the giver who their receiver is! 5. The giver has until the 20th December to make a gift for the receiver! The gift can be a poem, a story, something musical, artwork, a photo, anything you can think of as a gift. ^^ It's the thought that counts! There we go everypony, ready to sign up! It'll only be a handful of hours each day, and Saturday and Sunday aren't definitely happening it just depends how much we can accomplish on Friday. Some of the things we need to do are typical software updates and site clean ups, table optimizations, backups etc. Others are more practical, if not a little boring to you guys (for e.g I want to setup an automatic backup sequence, daily or weekly) and then of course we have a few little things you'll be more inclined to notice and appreciate.. Making the holidays that little bit more special
I don't know whether I want to participate. I don't think anyone wants my 'art' as a present. I can't make music, I don't write about ponies, I guess I could do photography, but my camera is terrisuck, I'm only decent at poetry, etc. ... Maybe I could code something, But then again; What?
Why I do want to participate: It'll be nice making something for a change. Why I don't want to participate: Nearly every project that I start, I don't end. Dilemma!
Nothing like christmas for that extra little motivation to finish something! I know you'd be able to do some great artwork or something!
Hm, the Secret Santa Hooves idea sounds interesting. I'll give it a try. I'm ok with scheduled down times, as those are a sign of a functional site.
