Well, you stole the words right out of my mouth right there. Ahem, certain forum member wasn't offended by anything he did or said. Certain forum member only found it against his moral code to see the things that he posted. This entire situation was avoidable. @greyOne: I don't recall ever reporting him. I only voiced my opinion. I'm pretty sure someone else did, however. I've only ever reported one person. And it wasn't DRD, and if I did, it was long ago.
Everything in life is avoidable. World Wars I & II were avoidable. As they say, Everything's 20/20 in retrospect. (Albeit that makes it worse than my normal vision)

I agree with you and I didn't think you were offended by him, he is my friend and I would've probably reported him too, I wouldn't have made it obvious though because I don't like hearing a bunch of crap from him. But I really don't think the Vent Thread should've been taken down the way it did, it's like if we had a Skype thread and a slight argument went down there and was locked for no one else to use... just because of that argument.
If I were an admin, I would have locked it, deleted all posts except the first one, then stickied it in the appropriate sub-forum. All info that was needed was already posted on the first page. There was no need to delve into topics that could have easily been discussed in Vent or the GCT. We have the general chat thread for a reason. Use it for that reason.
I guess I ought to be thankful you're not an admin then, please don't take offense for that statement. :]
To be honest, I'm glad I'm not either. I've run my fair share of sites, all of which I gave up my positions on. I'd much rather be something... less important. I've already requested several times to one person to lock that thread, and in the end it was, but not in the manner that I was hoping. I'm just listing what I'd do. I take no offense to that statement.
If you're implying that ePONYmous is the guy you kept asking, give him our thanks for not locking it until Viper found an actual reason to lock it.

I agree with this. The General Chat Thread was made for people to start random conversations on here, and see if somepony else catches on with it and replies. I'd hate to see this successful thread to be renamed to the 'General Debate Thread'.
