I thought Rarity's singing was beautiful too. The voice actress is named "Kazumi Evans". It seems most of the artists at DeviantArt love Beatnik Rarity and Elizabeth because art of those two have been showing up at the D.A. all day. lol I think Elizabeth is obviously a self-centered-supermodel pony because the shape of her body just screams "I care more about looking slim and sexy than being healthy" to me, and when she and Fancy pants first meet Rarity she was all over his back like "I want to have sex now". lol Last, I felt sorry the guy carrying Rarity's luggage back and forth, and I liked the window-washing pony "Hazy".
I was going to say, that supermodel pony with the pink mane is already on Deviantart. I found at least two renderings of her in a couple of quick searches. No consensus on a name yet. I wonder what the fan base will settle on?
Anypony else notice that EVERY "Proper" pony in Canterlot was a unicorn? Is this because Ponyville is mostly earth ponies, Cloudsdale is all pegasus, and as such Canterlot must be unicorn? Or are unicorns a higher social class in Equestria? And could earth ponies be at the bottom? I mean, think about it! Just as quick examples, there is a super high-class magic school for unicorns, and what do the earth ponies have? They have to do Winter-Wrap-Up by hand, the Apple family break their backs taking in apple harvests, and Pinkie's family worked on a ROCK FARM!!! Any questions?

I liked the singing, though. The biggest thing I was expecting was her to be caught with lie about Rainbow Dash being the Wonderbolts' trainer.
I saw your post... The difference in my theory is that I'm suggesting a class system. I'm actualy less interested in the theory that unicorns are the top social class, but more interested in earth ponies being at the bottom. A little more indepth. You yourself said that only the porter and window cleaner were earth. Think about that! The porter was being crushed to death, breaking his back to singlehandedly carry a huge load. Work aside, a class needs to be treated differently by others. How does Rarity, or even the princess, treat him? "M'ok, just go ahead and get crushed over there, we're talking about friendship!" Same for the window cleaner. The dude nearly broke his neck falling off a building! And what did he get? "Go away! You're making me look bad!" Your point about canterlot being best suited for pegasus'? This proves the class theory! If it would make much more sense for pegasus' to live there, the only thing holding them back would be a class system!
I thought that the porter was a Unicorn. Earth Ponies seem to be the biggest group so they are most likely the working class or the middle class. Although the Earth Ponies could be the working class because their homes are simpler than unicorn ponies. Finally, Pegasus ponies must be the middle class or at least a higher class than earth ponies, but just below Unicorn pony when it comes to wealth. I'm saying this because the middle class is the only class left after the other two species fill the working class and elite class. Although one could reason that the Pegasus ponies are middle class because we haven't seen a wealthy Pegasus yet. If we do then they must be rare. Like Earth ponies who are wealthy or at least have some social statues to them.
Rarity episodes are beautiful. In more this one have a song ! I liked to watch this episode, Rarity in the high society, héhé she is in her element ^^. She was in trouble when the mae6 come to make the party in canterlot, she has of to make double game. Party canon ? Brillant !
I think I have another favorite "Rarity style" next to wet mane Rarity now. A couple ponies I never thought we'd see ever again: - Octavia - Photo Finish - Blueblood - Sapphire Shores - Hoity Toity A while ago I was thinking "I'd really like to see the gala dresses again"". And what do we see in this episode? Rarity's gala dress! I wished the song was a bit longer. It was still s good song nonetheless. I'm starting to see a pattern here. Whenever the mane 6 go to canterlot, they always seem to cause some trouble. I know this is only the second time they've been there (for a party, I mean), but still.

Actually, on second viewing, the porter IS a unicorn, which says right away that even in Canterlot, not all unicorns are upper society types. There might have been some earth ponies in there, too, but given that virtually every pony was drawn with a hat on, you can't really be sure. While unicorns who wear hats do show their horns, USUALLY, it's not a hard and fast rule that they always will. There was a definite tip of the hat to "My Fair Lady" at the racetrack.
The porter is kind of the exeption that proves the rule. I agree, there were earth ponies in Canterlot. (There are unicorns and pegasus' in Ponlyville) But how many of the earth ponies were at the super fancy parties? How many were at the race? And yeah, Cloudsdale is KIND OF exclusive... Because only pegasus' can walk on clouds! But there are still (Middle class-like) jobs in Cloudsdale. Rainbow FACTORY, and construction? It kind of hinted that every pegasus lives in Cloudsdale at some point.
Well there were all three types of ponies at the Grand Galloping Gala. It might just be by chance that the parties Rarity went to had only unicorns. But I do see that there might be a class system, you are right, but I like to think of all ponies equal myself. :3
And you'll also notice that two above Derpy and to the right one is Caramel Apple (there's actually two of him in this picture), and I could have sworn I saw carrot top a number of times with the Canterlot elite. Though Caramel spending time with the upper class Canterlot ponies would explain why they haven't been able to fix anything around the farm,
The pony to the right of Derpy in that picture above is who some are saying is the ponified Eleventh Doctor. He was at the party at the end of the episode, too. I can just see it now... "I came for the dancing." *sees Twilight dancing, looks at all the cringing party-goers* "Odd...her dancing looks fine to me! Don't know what their problem is..."
I've got an idea about Doctor Whooves. We mostly see the Doctor in his brown earth pony form in Ponyville. (Looks a bit like the 10th Doctor) We mostly see the Doctor in his blue and blonde earth pony form in Canterlot (Looks like the 11th Doctor) And we saw another pegasus version of the Doctor in the Cloudsdale episode. (Looks like???) Doctor Whooves has regenerated at least twice, (Each regeneration has different personalities) his brown regeneration prefers Ponyville, his blue and blonde form perfers Canterlot, and the pegasus regeneration prefers Cloudsdale!
