Spoiler: synopsis Synopsis: Spike gets greedy on his birthday and has a huge growth spurt that could decimate Ponyville. Alternate Synopsis: After Spike's birthday gifts activate his greedy dragon instincts, he undergoes an outrageous growth spurt that threatens to destroy all of Ponyville, so he must find a way to stop growing and save the inhabitants of the city. I personally think it sounds interesting. I know *cough* Spike *cough* episodes such as a certain one last season probably don't excite most of this fanbase, but oh well! Source! Edit: Source 2, sorta'? It's EqD using source 1 as a source pretty much, but...
The episode synopsis reminds me of that one comic that asked Twilight what she would do when Spike grows up
I've read that comic a couple times now. it's so sad! I wonder what Spike will look like in this grand state? Something I'm kind of hoping for is after he get's small again, maybe he'll look bigger than he did before?
I'm hoping he doesn't look like how he did when young Twilight zapped him in "Cutie Mark Chronicles", to be honest. It's be a nice continuity nod, but I didn't like the design. It was less "adult dragon" and more "baby dragon if made really big" (which I think was the whole point :derpe!
honestly, even I'm Spike supporter, I'm bit sceptic about the episode. just fact that he'll get greedy, I just hope he won't get like Rainbow Dash in May The Best Pet Win. Although, I kinda expect more serious episode, but I'd like to see lot of random humour in it. Maybe bit of sarcasm and cynicism from Spike can help
... WOW. So... Shippiest episode EVER. Rarity/Spike might be my new OTP. >_< That was ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!
Interesting episode. Not my favorite, but a fun one. Now there's going to be a lot of Godzilla/King Kong type art of Spike showing up on DeviantArt today. lol
I liked this episode. While Spike was growing and growing, I was actually unsure how the ponies would return him to normal. I kept thinking, that Twilight or Celestia would use magic but then that would seem odd (forcing spike to never grow up?). I'm really glad with the way it ended. It almost brought tears to my eyes when normal Spike and Rarity were free falling and he finally told her he loves her! I'm such a sap for those types of scenes.
Overall i like the episode. I really thought they would use magic to turn Spike back to normal, but he only used the love he has for Rarity to turn him back to normal.
so spike got greedy and turned into a brute. Confessed his affection to rarity and saved himself from destruction. A good episode with a favorite qoute. "its better to give than to recieve"
the Wonderbolts in this episode made me laugh a bit when the water tower fell and they were all huddled together.
