Hello, I am going to convert a friend into a brony, he loves gaming, Pokemon, editing montages (he's not known for it), he's 16th at the 25th of December and he loves Dubstep and cars. Could you tell how you do it and your technics, I don't want to scare him away. He's one of my best friends though so I'll probably succed, then I can use him to convert even more. If you are going to convert someone share your plans! I don't have any direct plan, yet.
There's a lot of awesome dubstep brony music out there. IF you head to the radio we'll be happy to play you some just to show you what you could show him!
Well... I don't have any strategy. Tell him about your own experience. The world is full of bronies lol
I've been hanging around on the radio for a few days, and I love Glaze. I have showed him "Rainbow Factory" and he thought it was "Ok" but ofcourse there is even better. At the moment "she's a pony remix" by Glaze is my favourite. Anyways, next time I meet him he's going down! (into the world of equestria)
break it in gently, I used Silva Hound's "Sapphire Shores", "AppleJack" and "Rarity" to open and then went for slightly more pony-content inclusive songs, I find that having too much all at once causes an overload.
Thanks for the tips, I'm going to check them out myself too, I have only been a brony for about a week so I haven't found out about all the stuff yet! :3
Just show him an episode and see if he likes it. Simple. 'Planning to convert a friend' sounds like something a religious fundamentalist would do. If he likes it, cool. If he doesn't, also cool.
In that case its probably beneficial If I throw these up http://www.youtube.com/user/HaveAnArtAttack http://www.youtube.com/user/DJAelxs http://www.youtube.com/user/TheLivingTombstone Heres some paperclips, a comb and a blowtorch, good luck! (look through these channels, theres some dubstep in them)
Sorry, I made the thread because I'm nervous of what he'll think, that's all. Thanks for the channels links Bounty.
Don't be. Nothing bad will happen. You'll either end up with something new you can both talk about or two different opinions on a show about ponies, either way you're still friends, so it's all good. Should he not respect you for your tastes, well he's not a very good friend to begin with and shouldn't have any of your concern.
You're right, I know him well enough to know that he would never turn on me just because I like ponies. Thank you! :3
Yeah, I too accidentally converted some friends. When I told my mates I was a brony, I found out one of them was all ready a "Closet" brony. Another one was curious, and became a brony that very weekend. I knew a girl in my school was already a brony, then a guy in my tutor became a brony. We found out another kid was a brony. We talked about ponies a little near a friend and he became a brony. Woot! Just don't go on about it TOO much. Be careful not to rant about it to someone who doesn't give a damn, too- they just get annoyed.
I'm also trying to convert a friend. I got him to watch the first episode, and he said that he liked it, but he won't watch the 2nd episode. I've asked him to a few times, and he says he will, but he doesn't. So I've stopped asking for awhile so that it wont seem like I'm going to bug him until he does (which I don't want to do). Any ideas on what I should do to get him to give the show another try?
Here is a few of my plans: Plan A: Tell him about non-pony videos that have pony in related videos. Soon he will click on one, then you can make him into a brony Plan B: Directly tell him. I think it would be easier to do this in a chat or game or something rather than face-to-face. Plan C: Invite him over. Strap him to chair and play pony.
I've tried recommending him episodes, directly telling him (not trying to force him though), and plan c seems kinda harsh lol. He said he "actually liked it" when he watched the first episode, but that episode is nothing without seeing the conclusion in episode 2! But it seems that he's lost interest. My thoughts are either maybe he just lost interest and nothing else, or he doesn't want to like it because it seems "weird" to him.
Conversion is not needed. Over 500 students at my school are bronies. A respectable number. *Sips tea*
