That's week sauce, man. That's one of the easier short speak text terms to figure out. Pfffttt lol You really had to do that, didn't you?
How? I had not point of reference. Your Face When wasn't something used when I was young. We didn't really have the internet as it is back then. My family didn't even have a computer when I was a kid.
Just because you never grew up using those short hand terms, doesn't mean they still cannot be learned. I mean look at me. I'm damn near 30 years old and I will use stuff of that sort on occasion oe at least I know about most of it. Granted, I don't use short hand text speech like a *squee!*ing madmare, but you know.
One, no one has used that here in a topic I've been active in, so I haven't seen it before. The phrase Your Face When has barely been used in my presence as well. Also I'm nearly ten years older than you so my internet lingo is far more dated that yours. It took me forever to know what LOL even means.
Fair enough. Also. Despite how I worded things, I wasn't having a go at you. I was just saying that even if you didn't grow up knowing stuff like that, you'll eventually run into it at some point down the line. There are some like myself that dive head long, merely to be able to understand the context of such shorthand used. Not all will do this and that's fine. And I wasn't exactly lying when I said that I've used stuff of that sort before. I just don't do such things often on forums like this, for the sake other's sanity. Not to mention that I do enjoy spelling out words, regardless. Despite my opinions of the English language.
ohai Internet abbreviations and lingo used to come naturally until maybe the last few years. I remember when lol became a thing all over and it was used as an actual reaction to funny things instead of just a random punctuation to responses that are sometimes ironically serious. When someone would send lol in a messenger or email it was because they actually found something funny. I don't like how for some time recently a lot of common English phrases get abbreviated and I always have to look them up. I guess that's just how it goes tho. I'm getting old too.
Most of the time I don't bother using abbreviations. If I find something amusing, I use my 'smiling cat' emoticon. Maybe it's just the ex-editor in me, but I don't like using abbreviations in situations when it would be easier to just spell it out and avoid unneeded confusion. Exceptions made for acronyms, of course. >^_^<

This topic is kind of like Avoiding Spamville, so no font color is just a random character saying random stuff. I think I was trying to channel Silver Quill in that one, but Silver Quill would have kept Fluttershy, she is his favorite.
Our receptionist is 24 and she says IDK when she speaks. At least she doesn't do it when she talks to customers though. Also, lookie what I got!! Her hair needs some fixing. I'll try and clean it up a bit sometime soon.
