It's a Ghost in the Shell reference to the Laughing Man logo.

I'm with Lio on this. I have no idea what the 'Laughing Man' thing is supposed to be, and having never seen 'Ghost in the Shell', I don't get how they tie together.

If you want to know, look it up. I am not in a good mood today. All I was doing was showing where the Derpy version of that logo came from. Besides, it's a complex thing that I cannot do justice explaining. Bad mood or not.

I feel I need apologize too. I've been dealing with company that specializes in checking fire alarm tech. They have been setting off our fire alarms all week so far and I am getting tired of hearing it. I really am sorry for taking out my frustrations here. This business with fire alarm 'testing' just has me in a bad mood, is all.

I am not sure, honestly. Then again, I do live in a Section 8 Apartment Complex. So the rule for testing maybe different. I really cannot say. All I know is that it's annoying as *squee!*.

Wow, I missed an awesome Anime last year. I'm not even sure how I heard of it, but I really enjoyed Darling in the FranXX.

That moment when you miss a show/anime, and you find out later how great it is.

I haven't been as into anime as I used to. :( I watched a decent amount of it when I was finishing high school and college--Sailor Moon, the Pizza Cats and DBZ of course, Pokemon, Slayers, Tenchi Muyo, Fushigi Yuugi, Lost Universe, Detective Conan, among others... nowadays with stuff like Touhou and MLP distracting me, I can't bring myself to care much anymore about what's new and such. One-Punch Man, One Piece, and (to a lesser extent) DB Super have pretty much been the only anime I've seen much of in recent years.

Yeah. I really don't touch anime myself anymore, to really be up to date on the most recent stuff. I have Toonami to thank for even knowing, let alone seeing stuff like Sailor Moon, DBZ, Outlaw Star, and Tenchi Muyo. Hell I even saw Yu Yu Hakashow and Inuyasha. I think I somewhat butchered the name of the second to last one. The thing with Inyuasha though is I kinda fell out of watching that one after a certain point due to both high school and the long run time of the series, kinda making it hard to catch up.

I've not even seen any of DBZ Kai or Dragon Ball Super. Also I've heard good things about One Punch Man.

Kai is just Z with stuff cut out I never bothered with that myself. Super is okay, but some stuff does get a bit drawn out.

"Somewhat" is a bit of a stretch. ()^_^

But yeah, Toonami had awesome memories for me (though strangely, I never watched Outlaw Star until after it showed up on the late-night block; to this day I still remember Adult Swim's initial anime lineup for Saturday nights). *

Aside from them, I also have The International Channel to thank. They were this TV station that our cable provider carried back in the early 2000s (Wikipedia article here), and they'd air anime for 30-60 minutes on Sunday through Wednesday-Thursday evenings. They were how I first found out about Slayers and DBZ's original Japanese dub, among others. At some point Mom had the station blocked from our home without knowing it, but it turned out to be moot when the station shut down some years later anyway.

    * - Yu Yu Hakusho, Cowboy Bebop, Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, Pilot Candidate for Goddess, Outlaw Star, and Tenchi Muyo, in that order.

Saying I never saw Kai is a bit of a half lie. I typed that post while I was out of it yesterday, so yeah. But I am well aware of Kai did. And it's kinda neat they gutted a lot of the unnecessary filler. But truthfully, I tried to watch Kai. However, it just didn't feel the same as the original Funimation dub for America. Though I do like how they did Goku's 'I am' speech in Kai. I found out about it though through a lovely little Youtube channel called TotallyNotMark. This dude knows his *squee!* about DBZ and Dragon Ball in general, as a series.

But I can say, without a doubt that I have seen nothing of Dragon Ball Super outside what was spoiled for Xenoverse 2 and maybe some stuff talked about by the guy who's Youtube channel I mentioned in the above paragraph. In fact the only things within Super's general continuity I have seen, are Battle of Gods and Resurrection F. Well, technically Super itself pretty much 're-wrote' the Battle of God's plot. But whatever.

Okay, fair enough. I have not seen Yu Yu Hakusho in a long time. So the spelling for the anime's name kinda slipped my mind. Though, ironically you brought up one I have seen, that I didn't mention. Which answers the question of what one I was missing. Cowboy Bebop.

But yeah. The major irony behind Outlaw Star is that the first few episodes were aired on the old day time Toonami before being cancelled and then the full thing being re-aired on the Adult Swim anime line-up. But yeah. I never really knew about the international channel, so I didn't get into much more beyond what was shown by Toonami and Adult Swim. Which is kind of a shame, since there was plenty I did enjoy watching from what I saw. Though a lot of it may of been due to aforementioned High School. So yeah. My school work kinda eventually got in the way quite a lot. And I'm not exactly someone that could get it done really quick, having a learning disability and all.

Actually as a side note. I think I ended up also finding out about Ghost in the Shell though the two seasons Adult Swim ended up airing. The Laughing Man thing was from the first of the two, which was the Stand Alone Complex. The second one was about a group known as a the Individual Eleven.
