"You're changing the subject," he pointed out. "I'm not stupid. Did something happen?"
"You should sleep," she said softly, her voice warm. "I'll sleep too."
He cocked his head. "They'll all be friends."
He raised an eyebrow. "Poppy, did something happen?"
She chuckled. "Is it?"
"Two and three," he replied. "What about Mo?"
"It's alright. Why not take off your coat and gloves?"
She laughed brightly, cocking her head. "Are you tired?"
"Nacho, but they're both pretty young."
"It's nice to see you as well," he said softly. "Are you excited for the New Year?"
She propped her head on her hand with a grin. "I love you."
He patted the cats head. "I think so too."
"No. I've been inside, so I'm alright."
She went to him gladly, her eyes bright. "Guess what?"
