When it was her turn, Avice stepped through carefully, her movements quick and precise.

He pursed his lips. "I know you don't really believe me, but that's okay. It'll just be a nice surprise when we do find something
Her eyebrows furrowed slightly, but she nodded, stepping into the line.
He laughed softly. "That's okay. I wasn't exactly clear."
"Or," he said, "it could just be a little deeper down."
He cocked his head. "You didn't even consider that I was worried because you were my friend and I cared about you?"
Avice hesitated, taking Jack's hand without a word and glancing around.
"Well," he muttered, not pausing his search. "It can't just be gone."
Avice looked ahead, pulling her hands away as the light came into view, and her footsteps became silent.
"Hm.. Me neither," he said. "That's okay though! There's gotta be something..."
He smiled slightly. "And you believed that?"
She observed him quietly, before reaching her hand up and rubbing his back soothingly.
He followed, kneeling down in another area while looking around.
He pursed his lips. ".. Nuh uh."
She looked up at him with bright eyes, enjoying the touch.
