Well, since 1 billion people have been estimated to watch the Opening Ceremony, I'll make this thread as I'm sure some of you have caught the ceremony on your TVs. I loved the beginning of the opening. The rest was a tad gimmicky but I guess that's just the British spirit, there. I do hope that this thread will get posted in to chat about the olympic progress for various countries. I'm currently sat watching all the countries flood into the main stadium. Who are you supporting? Who do you predict will have a sporting chance in winning?
Here across the pond the ceremony doesn't start 'till tonight, and I'll miss it because I'm playing Friday Night Magic.
I'll be watching it, I plan to see Bond, Voldemort, and all the other ridiculously awesome stuff I've heard is there. On an unrelated note, your sig is amazing Merri.
I watched every country go past. And I've said everything on the GCT. I think I'm probably the most enthusiastic here. Although, that's probably no surprise, considering how much I love other countries.
With the Olympic flag being brought out when they sad "bringing harmony in the time of discord". Was I the only one thinking of mlp
Definitely an excellent opening ceremony this year. I really liked that they even paid tribute to the folks who built the structure everything took place in. Should prove to be interesting seeing how everyone does.
