Good Afternoon Everypony, I hope you've been enjoying Spring so far, I know it's been treating me well, what with the snow and all. Now, I know you're wondering why I've decided to make an announcement this fine winter day. I just thought I'd take the time out of my day to remind some of you of a few standing rules we have in place here at Everypony.com: Now, Zephyr, you ask, why would this need to be reminded? Well, unfortunately, the answer is because it seems to have to be. Recently, by which I mean these past few weeks, or more specifically, the past few days, have been utterly littered by violations of this rules widespread, most specifically in the EPN Chat room. The Chat room, while yes, it does have the functionality of private messaging, does not mean it is a safety zone from the rules of the site. The reason why I use this specific example, is because I've very recently come into the knowledge that there have been horrendous amounts of sexual RPs going on behind the scenes, and I will absolutely not stand for this. At this point, multiple users have been banned for this reason, one of which is gone for good. From this point on, any and all sexual RP in the chat room will result in an immediate permanent ban from the entire Everypony Network. Children use this site, and I will be damned if I let this sort of stuff seep out at them from a site I help run. For those of you reading this who have been involved in these RPs, let me level with you for a moment. I am not against these sort of RPs. I am not against people who perform these RPs. If you want to RP that sort of stuff, feel absolutely free; download skype, find an IRC. But if I find any other Sexual RPs going on inside of the Everpony Network, then you willl be in search of a new site. Anything said in a Private Message on the site is still liable under the rules. This is your final opportunity to save yourself; stop while you're ahead. On a much more sympathetic note: I apologize to the people who's privacy I've unfortunately been forced to breach today and yesterday as a result of these RPs. I take no pleasure in shifting through things that had to be said in private, I did my best to ignore anything unrelated to the problem at hand, but it's left a very bitter taste in my mouth with the fact that it was necessary to stop it. I am very sorry for doing so, but it's what I have to do from time to time. -Zephyr

We'd also like to encourage reporting these sort of things if you know anything about it. We'd prefer to do as much as we can without having an admin going through private logs.
Just out of curiosity, I thought Mike had said you guys couldn't look at private messages even if you wanted to. I remember it coming up the last time we had a big discussion about these sort of shenanigans. Or are the PM's on forums secure but the ones in chat are not?
Only admins can access private chat logs. Moderators can't, and will never be able to. As for actual private messages on the forums (if that's what you mean) We can only see those if people report them to us.
Chat logs are viewable by admins, PMs are not unless you report them, or in an absolute emergency the account is seized for extreme circumstances (illegal activity, etc).
Keep it clean, folks! But seriously, Zephyr. I want to thank you for this crack down. Stuff like this just bugs me. Man, people. If you wanna RP, just do it out in the open. There's, like, 4 channels.

I'm sure they don't. If they were that understanding, they prolly wouldn't have done it on this site in the first place. Although chances are they figured they could get away with it. Regardless, I'm with Ramza on this one. Keep it on Skype.
This. Just yes. I've walked in on clop...I blackmailed the participants into being my chat bodyguards and following my orders for a night. But some are less willing. The one who helped me stop the most of this was BlazingDawn. He believed me, and taught me proper ways to deal with this bull. But now that we have all of the admins, this is gonna be good.
The reason that Everypony is my prefered MLP site is because it is clop-free. I appreciate how hard the staff works to keep it that way.
I sure as hay don't want to see or hear anything bad or sexual i'm glad that the forum staff on here is working harder to enforce that.
Never been to the RP section, so yeah..... Remember children, sex is an abomination. Avoid it at all costs.
