Echo slowly began to crawl his way through the small pile of heaped together stone walls that he called home. He checked his stores and found that he was almost out. Looking down, he knew that it would take days to get it. His stomach already was growling. This was not a good day. ((What's the climate like?))
Sapphire yawned. apparently it was time to wake up and go jem digging. "ugh. another day, another crappy life underground having to work away for this dump." she got up and went to her post in the digging area. then she went past one of her friends,Scarlet Flash. "Hey Saph! how are you?" "I'm fine. just a bit sleepy." "awwww... hey thewe misses sweepy hooveth!" "and there you are with your weird impressions...but i'm telling you. there is a surface and one day i'll be up there." she got to her post and started digging. (well up above think of it like fallout, a rotting hole of a place filled with dirt,sand,other stuff that you would see im a waste land.)
Darky was walking around the underground city. It was one of the few underground cities built after everything that happened but it was quite isolated. The name of the city? No pony knew, they just called it the moonlight city, but nopony actually knew why. Some say because of a banner it had, which had a symbol of a moon, a resemblance to Luna's Cutie Mark, although nopony remembered who she was. Darky was one of the most known and important ponies of the city. He was one of the ponies that helped built the city long ago and the only one that remains. He wasn't the leader, but everypony knew him. He looked up. "One day, I'll see the surface." he said exited "I hope it is like in the ancient books, but I must help the other ponies. It is my duty." he mved his head down again and continued walking.
(Can anyone live aboveground? Like just in their home or something? I kinda want my character to be that one hermit...)
"I'm gonna do something great one day, i know it! maybe today,maybe tomorrow,who knows..." she continued digging then she spotted something with her tracking magic. "huh,i'm getting something in this direction." she continued digging then she came a cross an incredibly dusty and dirty heart shaped crystal. "ohh...it's pretty... oh!maybe I can give this to Darky!" she ran out of her post and bolted in a random direction "DARKY! DARKY! DARKY! I GOT YOU SOMETHING!" then suddenly she slammed into something big but it was clearly somepony. but when she looked up she saw Darky on the floor. "oh my gosh! Darky i'm sorry! i didn't see you because i was running to get you something and i don't recognize you were there and i'm really sorry! but i got you this..." she held the crystal up to his vision. "i found it when i was digging.i hope you like it." she blushed a little.
Darky stood up. "Don't worry dear, I wasn't paying attention to where I was going. Anyways, what do you got there?" he asked her and then say the crystal "Oh, what is this?!" he said astonished. He had never seen anything like it, although it looked familiar somehow, yet he couldn't say what it was. "It's quite pretty. You want me to have it?" he asked her in a soft voice. "You are very kind Sapphire."
A record player played a great symphony of violins played from the speakers. From miles, this could be heard, and from miles, it would attract strangers. Outside of Ponyville, in the ashes of the Everfree Forest where great, great trees once stood, but from drought they had turned from dead to ash. The wind blew, carrying debris, dust, dirt, and ash along the way. There stood several large buildings, each one connected to each other in a large octagon. There was Blade's: Forge and Shop, then there was the regular, three story house someone lived in. Then, there was the greenhouse and gardens, a large, wide expanse of jungle like living structures and plants (about a football field and a half), how was it manageable one would ask? Simple, buying and extracting seeds, then planting before any of this had happened, the death of the princesses... it was disastrous. BladeRunners parent were some of the ultimate preppers, having built solar panels and hydro pumps for electricity, as well as windmills. It had been lonely in the building(s) most of Blades life, yet, he enjoyed it. He rescued a ferret from a pack of dying Timbur Wolves, a baby ferret. Ever since his parents had died, the ferret was his main priority, handling it with care and what not, he named her Ginko. Desmond enjoyed life here, especially in the gardens! 9Sorry if I start out a little... here and there, but I am a little tired lol.)
"your welcome. i try what i can to please ponies like you... and we're friends now, right? cuz then if you get bad i can be there for you and when i make you feel better you can say that one of your friends helped you!and then you can do the same for me because since your like a really cool guy! and then when i feel bad you can be there for me! because friends look out for each other...you would keep me safe wouldn't you Darky?" she looked at him with adorable puppy eyes. "would you?"
Darky smiled at her. "Yes, we are friends, never forget that. And I'll keep you safe until my last breathe." He just couldn't say no to those adorable eyes she made. He then took the crystal and cleaned it a little, the best he could. It was quite pretty and it started glowing a little, quite weakly. "Well, this is interesting." he said when he saw it glowing.
Sighing, Echo slowly took the the sky. Or at least, the roof of the carved out cavern that he now lived in. He sighed and flew around, feeling restricted. He didn't know what it was like to fly freely. There had to be more in life than just this. Flying in spaces where his wings barely unfurled... this was torture. He was flying and landed, stopping by one of the few sources of water. He knew it was fed by a stream, yet it was above ground. There was a crevice too small for a wing to slide in, which fed the pool. It was either this or the underground sea, which was basically asking for suicide. He filled up a canteen and began to fly around, looking for anypony.
"I never saw it before while digging but i should go back to my post. if anything cool happens tell me okay?!" she ran off to her post and was preparing to dig until she heard music coming from above. "whats that?" she started to dig diagonally upwards and as she got further up she could hear the music more clearly and after a few more minutes of digging she broke through dirt and popped her head out and looked around then she noticed blade. "GAH! STRNGER DANGER! AHH! OH GOD! NO! AHHH!" she tucked her head back into the hole.
Darky heard her yells, he put the crystal heart in a bag he was had with him and quickly rushed to the hole she made. "Sapphire! Are you alright?!" he yelled at her worried
"i heard something up above and i dug to see what it was and i saw a creepy stranger with a weird rat thing with him and now i'm scared!"
BladeRunner had been walking in the wastes, he was minding his own business as Ginko had played aournd in the dirt with a rat. The two seemed to get along fine. The music could be heard two miles away from where he was, but his attention was drawn to a... underground mare? This was interesting. He took off to his house, the, ferret climbing up his side and onto his back, he ran and ran to his home. (The home is no where near the underground tunnels or civilization, so good luck finding it, although the music should keep you guessing.)
"well...i think he's gone so i'm gonna check it out." she poked her head out again and slowly climbed out. she could hear the music but she was more distracted by where she was but then it finally dawned on her. she reached the surface. she went back down the hole. "darky, your not gonna belive this!!! ! found the surface! I did it! ! did it! ! did it! I FOUND THE SURFACE!!!" which she said much too loudly because everypony was looking at her in disbelief and then she simply whimpered and crawled back up the hole.
