What kind of animation? 2D? 3D? Digital? Traditional?

I'd recommend Blender for 3D animation, it's free and relatively easy to learn. For anything 2D you could always try Flash, but that's a bit pricey.

Well, you could go for Flash I guess.
    But yeah, it's expensive.

I suggest you use the magical engine of search. c:

I highly suggest Google searches and much research into the field of animation you wish to pursue. That way you can find what program best suits your needs and desires.

I hate How Flash is so Bloody expensive that it's no wonder people have turn to piracy...No one can afford it, in these times. I've played around it, before and didn't know much of it and made like 5 to 10 second long films but Now i'm demanding to own it, once again.

It all depends if your doing FBF (Frame by Frame) where you draw the character over and over, again or putting motion in it for that matter. I wish i can help but i'm not that experience with flash that much but i remember where everything is and the commands for it.

I can't really tell you much more than you've already been told, but I'd definitely go for flash! Flash is quiet easy, once you get used to it. Get some practise, look for tutorials... You'll get it in no time!
