I received word today that one of our members, Dinky Hooves (waterflame on the forums) was shot during a free-running competition. Two of his friends died during this shooting, and Dinky is currently recovering in the hospital as far as my knowledge of the situation goes. Since both me and him are Belgian, i'll be watching the news for updates on this if they say something about it. (shootings are quite uncommon around here, so they just might mention it). If anyone else can provide some information about this, it'd be welcome. In any case, i made this thread so our community can show it's support. You got mine, Dinky!

I can't find words to express how appaled I am by people like that. Why would they do it? Why? I hope you can pick yourself up from this Dinky, its hard losing those we love, but as long as you have life you can live it, perhaps someday we can make this world a place where stuff like this no longer happens...Someday...
thank you all for the sympathy, and thanks to rarit_E to start this thread... i wouldn't have had the courage to do it myself to make things clear, 2 people got killed, several (including me) got hit and the shooter has been arrested as far as i know, nothing else has happened except for being questioned about what happened. this will be kept quiet for the news hoggers, but i'll keep you updated on things. some of my freerunner friends are here, and thank you all for the sympathy you guys show to us... once again, thank you
Um. Well. I didn't expect that to happen to somepony any time soon. Mostly because shootings are horrible, horrible events that rarely ever occur. As such I wish the best of luck to Dinky, and my deepest sincerities to both Dinky and the family of their friends that everything will be ok.

I have no idea what to say, Dinky. This is just....just too tragic for words. I'm so sorry this had to happen to someone as friendly as you. You should come to America again. Spend some time downtown in a major city.
If this were in Chicago or the Bronx, this wouldn't have been a surprise to me. I still would have been shocked and all, but this was a blow to the head. I mean... Belgium, of all places? Geez, what is the world coming to... That's... that's terrible. I hope you get better soon, Dinky. Hopefully the shooter will be put to justice for his crimes.

i was hoping to leave the hospital this evening, but the doctor wants to keep me here for some reason... also, it seems i punched the shooter some brain damage while i was frenzied (real real mad) as far as i know, 3 others have to stay too, we'll be put together in one room so far the update, i probably can tell more tomorrow. edit: not sure if any of this is going to be in the news, asked to keep it quiet as i said before, and i'm afraid if any of this reaches the press, hells breaking loose.

as far as we know, it was because he hated homosexual people, under wich, according to him, us bronies, furries, and several other groupings. its a shame it is because of hate, its even a bigger shame the 2 that got killed weren't any of aforementioned.
