Steve found himself wishing that he had read the book about the Newflower Republic before meeting Adaria, but it was a little too late to worry about such things now. He'd read up on local history later. For now, he still owed Adaria lunch, and he had no intention of letting petty local customs stop him from paying back the girl that had had helped him. He turned the man with the strange mask and metal arm that was leaning against a wall nearby. "Hey, you! I know that you were listening, so why don't you make yourself useful and tell us where to find a place that will serve... um... Cat-People?"
Over fifty soldiers dead within ten minutes, not a new record. The man knew where to go on from this point, the leader, an old enemy that had been killing off others for the fun of it for years, otherwise known as Pyrotech. The man had hunted the enemy down for years, his bounty was extremely high enough that nobody were to fight him. The man walked into the village, the people already hiding in their homes, they had known of what was going to happen next. Large behemoth- well more like a giant creature walked down the streets. Its back spewed hot magma, its abnormal snout exerting smoke, and teeth were built of iron and its glowing red blood eyes were the eyes of death itself. "IT TOOK YOU QUITE SOME TIME, YOUR ARRIVAL SHOOK THE ENTIRE POPULATION, SO I MIGHT AS WELL END IT." The creature said with a demonic voice. "So I've heard." The man said with a quiet voice. "AND NOW," The creature took out what looked like a large cannon, "ITS TIME TO DIE." "Then so be it."
Natasha woke up after her sleep and began preparing for the arrival of more Hellwalkers from across the globe. Her first action was to allow hellwalkers free access to the library and free access to lessons to teach them about there races culture and Historical significance which she felt they would of lost. Especially the American lot. Wanting to impress the arrivals she took out every book about Europe and North America, hoping to impress them with her knowledge. Meanwhile the Hellwalker who was sent to unite and persuade those in America arrived at Nipton port. She asked around a bit asking about any hellwalkers in the area. She did get an answer from one who pointed out that all the Hellwalkers in the area either work or are part of the Underworld Mafia. Not knowing where or how to contact them. She simply sat at a bench hoping that a hellwalker would notice her due to her unique appearance of Blood red eyes, fangs, pale skin and dark hair. As well as the almost stripper like clothing which was common clothing for women back in The UMB but obviously not here.
Isaac turned his head to the man yelling at him, letting out a sigh and making his way over. "And here I thought I was more discreet." He gave a small gesture with his arms that said "I got nothin'." "Ah, then again how discreet can a guy with a metal arm be, really?" He stopped when he was a suitable few feet away from the two individuals. "Can't really help you there, I only just wandered in myself. Although I remember a place I was at a while ago, catered to a bunch of different... Species? I guess. Yeah I saw cat-people in there. It's a little ways away however." "I've got food too, if you don't mind M.R.E's."
Steve jerked his thumb towards the aircraft floating in the water nearby. "How far away is the place, exactly? I've got a motorcycle in there, but I doubt that Miss Adaria wants to ride with a total stranger. Especially not if we could just walk there, or..." He looked around, searching for something that resembled the Hansom cabs of New Seattle. "...Do they have horse cabs down here?"
Before Adaria spoke, a horse-cart came around a corner and stopped at the first building. She had a slight smile to her face as it came to a stop not far from her location. "Yes....I guess they do."
As the creature shot its cannon, large molten balls hit the houses behind the man. The man swiftly grabbed out his katana and charged at the beast. The beast charged, creating a large molten axe out of its bare hands, it came down. The man dodged it, slicing the beasts leg in half. The creature would fall on its stub, "YOU WILL PAY FOR THIS!!!"
Steve looked at Adaria and the stranger, and walked towards the cab. "So... are you two coming? I'm looking forward to trying one of those 'cheeseburgers' that I've heard people talking about." He had not planned on inviting the stranger along, but he was they one who knew where they were going. Besides, Steve wanted to get a better look at the man's metal arm. It was rare to find such a complicated piece of machinery in working order.
Isaac's train of thought was quickly derailed as he saw Steve walking towards the cab. "Well of course, you wouldn't know where to go, obviously." Isaac made haste towards the cab, hopping in and relaxing a bit.
The creature continued to shoot at the man, but he was destroying houses. The man leaped into the air and prepared to slice the beast in half. He came down, landing perfectly below the beast. The beast said nothing, it sat still as a red line formed at its forehead, and began traveling down its body. In two halves, the beast fell to the ground, blood and guts spilled. The man walked away towards the dock as people began coming out of their homes, happy, excited, they were now freed. The man got back in his boat, people already putting gifts below the deck of the three story ship. As the boat took off, people were cheering. The man turned to a group of six, all of them looking like soldiers. "You take Pyrotech out already? That ain't no record," One of them said playfully, "So, where to?" The man removed his hood and hat, "America."
Adaria had a small grin on her face as she went towards the cart. It was very likely that the burger place would a tuna or fish based burger, but she preferred a normal burger nonetheless. She hopped onto the cart and took a seat in the back.
A group of buff male hellwalkers approached the representative of the UMB who was sitting at the bench near the three strangers. Surveying the strangers before conversing, she noticed the ears on the female so at least there was another possible race to ally with against normals. She stood up and a dark energy spun around her the men did the same until they were shrouded in the shade of a tree. From the Strangers position all they could hear was the occasional mention of The united kingdom, The United Midlands of old Britain and for the hellwalkers to join them there to create an empire. However they did not here about Slavery of normals and the like. The hellwalkers agreed but they needed to have a way to fly there. So they began asking and searching for a bunch of planes to transport the 500+ hellwalkers in the area.
The restaurant, as it turned out, was located inside a half-collapsed warehouse near the edge of the city. Judging from the shifty-eyed clientele, and the astonishing assortment of weapons that they carried, it obviously catered to smugglers, mercenaries, and thieves. A middle-aged Neko woman with one eye and a curious shortage of teeth greeted the group at the door. "Welcome to the Storehouse Cafe. For your own safety, and the safety of the staff, please leave all weapons holstered while on the premises." Steve thanked the catgirl for the warning and found a relatively quiet corner booth. Sitting down, he waved for the other two to follow him.
The former veteran looked upon the grey shores of the west coast of America. He had once thought of settling here in Oregon before, and had stayed here a couple times with family, before, within the quiet woods of Goble that were so reminiscent of the Black Forest in Germany. The water looked like liquid mercury to the tall man, looking out the porthole from the large boat, his hidden eyes looking out for any signs of danger; He did not know what the world might hold for him here. His loyal companion, Katy, huffed, tired of the long journey that they have been on for quite some time. She was only a few years old, but she was highly intelligent, knowing everything a dog should know and then some. The German-shepherd got up and sat right by Adrian Stromausfall's legs, putting her head on his thigh. The man petted her, and talked, his voice electronically distorted under his helmet. "We're almost to shore, little Kind. Just wait about an hour." He got up, his great height showing, and nearly pounded his head on the ceiling. He went over to the computer-monitors in the former intelligence-gathering ship, and looked at the world through some old satellites still functioning, orbiting the earth. He typed on a few keyboards, and could see what lied ahead. He was indeed on course, and it appeared that it would be nearly a day's journey towards Portland using his Royal Enfield Motorcycle...
Isaac took a deep breath, although it didn't do much anyways, he could smell no difference in the air he was breathing. "Lovely place, isn't it?" The sarcasm was barely noticeable in his voice. He made sure all his weapons were secure and holstered, then made his way over to the booth that the non-cat-person was sitting at. Resting his metal arm on the table and opening up a small portion of it, making some calibrations to it as he waited.
Adaria entered the cafe, taking out her weapons and placing them inside of a footlocker. Once done, she met with all of the others and sat down. She was curious about the other Neko, the first she had seen since she reached the mainland and how she was...missing some features. There was a fairly large chunk of her left ear missing, alongside an eyepatch covering a missing eye and some missing teeth. From what she had gathered, Neko's living on the mainland were not as fortunate as those at home, but they did not experience any of the racist policies of the Republic.
Trying not to seem too obviously fascinated with the mechanical arm, Steve instead focused on reading the menu. He quickly decided on a 'cheeseburger and fries,' a dish that he had read about many times in the books he found during his wandering. It eventually occurred to him that he didn't know the stranger's name, nor did the stranger know him. "I'm Steve Rogers, by the way. The catgirl..." The one-eyed waitress, walking past with a tray of food for another table, interrupted him. "'Neko,' sweetie. Not 'catgirl.'" "Really? Thanks, ma'am. Anyway, the Neko is called Adaria Euralain."
"Right, I seem to have forgotten my manners. Pleased to meet you Steve, Adaria." He nodded at each of them respectively. "I'm Isaac. Isaac Leos. Go ahead and ask about the arm now, I'm sure it'll come up in later conversation, it usually does." Isaac let out a slight chuckle, picking up the menu. "Can't remember the last time I had a plate of wings... I think I'll have those." Isaac paused for a moment, making a mental note to stop talking to himself. At least in front of other people.
Steve breathed a sigh of relief. "Well, since you brought it up... Where did you get it? That tech is years beyond pre-impact technology. I've spent a decade salvaging from the old cities, and I've never come across anything like your arm."
Isaac shrugged. "You must be salvaging from the wrong places then." He let out another chuckle. "No no, the place I was able to salvage all the parts from it was ah... Well it was advanced... Let's just say that." He moved his mechanical arm a bit. "It's not perfect, far from it. I had to spend weeks, combining parts from a variety of things. Computers, appliances, you name it. Eventually, I was able to create a near fully functional arm out of 'em." He drummed his metallic fingers against the table. "I reckon I couldn't build another if I tried. Doubt I could find the parts." He shrugged. "Still, though, for salvage? I even impress myself sometimes." He smiled, though one wouldn't know ir from under his mask.
