So, you know those times where a sudden realization about something hits you at random times? That's fridge brilliance. This changed my childhood; they never said Humpty Dumpty was an egg. It's just a tragic story about a man falling to his death. What have you guys suddenly realized that changed everything forever? Sent from my Inspire 4g using Tapatalk
Damn. I've had a bunch of these, but I'll never be able to remember. This is going to drive me crazy.
Ain't these called epiphanies? Females are magnificent (and expensive) creatures. Learnt this about 6 years ago :derpe:
lol that makes the part of all the men trying to "put him togeteher again" kinda ceepy. That makes me think of one too, they are never called Ewoks in Return of the Jedi.
http://lmgtfy.com/?q=TV+Tropes Anyways, I've had a lot of these, but I'm not very good at remembering. :derpe:
I don't know if I've ever been to that particular article though. TV Tropes never holds my interest for very long. I'd just heard the phrase before. And all the Easter egg characters in the grocery store right now made me think of Humpty Dumpty. Sent from my Inspire 4g using Tapatalk
The epiphany when you're in the bath and you realise you're bathing in your own filth. The epiphany that you're slowly dying with each breath. The epiphany that your parents have actually been lying to you for years with the various holiday mascots.
I've got one! That moment when I suddenly realized "Oh my god. I love ponies!"
What? Aw, that just ruined the last speck of my childhood. Whenever I realize that the same voice-actor voices two characters, and those characters are having a conversation in the show, it just feels like the voice-actor is having a conversation with himself/herself.
All nursery ryhmes are based on cruel stories. Humpty Dumpty was a cannon which fell and left a kingdom defensless. And "Atishoo- Atishoo we all fall down" is refrence to the black plauge... So tragic... so so tragic...
Atishoo? I learned it as "ashes". Ring around the rosey, A pocket full of posies, Ashes to ashes, we all fall down. I guess you'd get these red rings from the plague, and people would pile up the dead outside. So to avoid the smell, people kept flowers in their pockets and smell those while they walked by. And then the last line is self explanatory xD
Actually, it was created pretty much right after the plague as that's when it was first recorded being used, according to my (Outdated) history book. So the only logical conclusion is that it came from the plague.
I heard it wasnt ever recoreded until the late 1800's. I could be wrong im not a history buff. But to me i never really believed it because it doesn't really describe the symptoms of the plauge particularly well, and as Darkshine and Cloudy Bounce made clear there is more then one version maybe the original version was based on the plauge but the song as it is now is just a silly nursery rhyme. I think thats just my opinion.
I thought that the flowers were used as smelling perfumes to prevent the "bad air" being breathed in by healthy people. ...Didn't work very well...
Seriously thought that this thread was going to be about the infamous: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBRL7D0wcXM
Ooh! I had an awesome one of these! Only I can't remember it. (EDIT; Is RainbowDash Face-hoof smiley... Broken? )
