So I was at work last night and I was stocking things as I normally would, then the next song came on my ipod. It was At The Gala(MLP version) so I'm all into the song and I start to sing a little bit. By the time I got to Rarity's verse, I must have be singing pretty loud (I had sound cancelling earbuds, couldn't hear a thing). So I leave my aisle and I see the 50 year old man across from me staring at me like I was crazy. It was the funniest look I've ever seen. He turned, shaking is head. I guess singing about wonderbolts and calling myself a "pony named pinkie" is a little weird.

That's my funny story. Anypony have a funny public story they'd like to share?

Oh I'm always singing Pinkie's No Fear song when I'm in an awkward situation, though clearly not as loud as you. :3

I do it for a reason though, I have posted before that I'm easily intimidated and easily frightened by anything really - but mostly strangers. I'm terrified of people that I don't know. So I sing No Fear/Laughter Song/Giggle At The Ghosty, because when I get to the line "Pinkie, you gotta stand up tall learn to face your fears, you'll see that they can't hurt you just laugh and make them disappear" I feel instantly better.

For me MLP is more than a TV show now. It's therapeutic. XD

I haven't had an instance where I sang in public but I can imagine myself making cupcakes and my friend eating some. When they ask "How do you make them so good?" I can just see myself start singing "All ou gotta do is take a cup of flour, add it to the mix!"

It's not very public, but it's along those lines.

I was helping my stepdad lay a patio for his friend about a month ago. Now, my stepdad is 43, muscular, plastered in tattoos and a former football hooligan. He's actually a very funny, nice and polite guy, but his friends... less so. They're still in the hardman phase. I don't know if you're familiar with the typical stereotype of a british tough guy, but these lot fit it perfectly. All muscle, no brain. Meatheads, I like to call them.

So anyway, I'm shovelling the cement mixture with the sand, my stepdad is busy grouting the joints, and the other 3 are just sitting in deckchairs drinking Stella Artois. However, just as I'm done with the cement, my phone starts to ring.

My ringtone is the Friendship is Magic theme.

Those 3 meatheads all turned to face me, each with a look of shock and disapproval. Knowing this, I deliberately took a long time to answer. Fumbling about in my pocket, staring at the caller ID, all to try and play as much of the song as possible. After I had finished talking, one of the meatheads just blurted out 'what the f*** was that?'

Honestly, you can't comprehend how funny their reactions were. Three 40+ year old tough guys confused and scared at a My Little Pony ringtone. I've never seen anyone as terrified of having their masculinity questioned as those 3. It was pathetic, but ultimately funny knowing that they are that scared of anybody thinking they were gay, they had to jump at a 17 year old with a ringtone from a cartoon made for but not limited to girls.

One of them even asked me, 'so are you a *squee!*got or something?' Because, as we all know, homosexuals, who are of course properly known as '*squee!*gots', can be easily recognised by their ringtones. Well done, Dr Meathead. Well done.

I think my stepdad would have jumped in to defend me, but he could see I was handling myself. I was giggling to myself most of the way through. I mean, homophobia is not funny at all, but coming from these guys, I had to laugh. Having to explain that sexuality and ringtones are not related, and then asking them if they would have a problem if I was gay, I wish I'd have filmed it for you guys. Seriously.

    Homophobia: 0
    Love and tolerance: 1

Hopefully I'll have some more public brony stories once college starts again.

Nay, nothing's ever happened with me in public. It'd be funny if something did happen, though. And Lu, I know exactly what you mean about 'Meatheads', as you call them. I prefer to call them 'foals', myself. I am a snob of some renown.

It hasn't happened yet but I know it's coming. I'm looking forward to it actually seeing as most of the people I work with tend to be more "conservative" if you will. I'm looking forward to converting some folks too.

I haven't really had anything public, although I use quotes from the show all the time - no one recognizes them so it goes unnoticed. Once, when I took over a shift at work, and had to do the paperwork, I put in things like, "D. Wynter took over shift at 2000 hours, making it 20% cooler." But I took it out before I submitted it, since it was "official" paperwork - the higher ups wouldn't appreciate frivolity in a security officer. The silly fillies.

Prize given to the soonest noticed or last noticed? There should be bonus points for any conversions, for sure.

I have this attached image printed on photo paper and then cut out with an exactoknife(whatever it is.)

Then placed it on the back of my rear car window, wonder how many drivers will notice the quote.

    EDIT: Forgot to attach image.

Since I use "okey dokey" quite a lot I've been trying to get myself to go with "okey dokey lokey" instead. Does that count? :p

    Great Topic.

I have a few. We were having a break during a long class and a friend of mine, who doesn't know about my bronydom was browsing the internet on the computer that was hooked up to the projector in front of the class. He was showing off his youtube channel and saying what he planned to do with it. Then he saw my Youtube channel in his subscribers and said "I wonder what setzertrancer is up to?) He clicked my channel and my Positive Qualities video started playing. My heart started pounding.

I buried my head in my arms and stated loudly "Oh how embarrassing" I did this kind of as a way to confirm it was mine because I just wanted to get it out there and over with and I was curious at what the reaction would be. The video played half way through before my friend decided to watch something else.

The reaction was almost nothing. The PMV used words like ponyville and equestria. Then right before the the video was turned off Trixie said "Are you out of your little pony minds?" Only after that someone laughed and said What?

and that was it. I was kind of disappointed. I was getting ready to defend my masculinity, but noone cared enough about what they saw to even say anything about it, or about me. I think any of them had any clue what they just saw.

I made printed up some rainbow dash fliers, with a cathphrase on it only bronies would recognise, with an email I made specifically for it, In order to find bronies in my area. Over the week 2 of my 3 fliers disappeared, ether by interest or trolling. My third one remains but is scrunched up, as if someone punched it, maybe someone recognised it and was a hater, maybe they were giving me a negative message.

It wasn't until about 2 weeks later I finally go an email from someone, I was excited and read it, i'll share it here.

    "What is the answer?!

    Sent from my iPhone"
    I replied with

"Well you tell me I already know the answer.

I also know that Applejack is stubborn.

    That Rarity is Whiiiiining.

and That Fluttershy could get so mad she could scream. ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

and that Pinkie is.... so random...

and also that that name is suspiciously familiar. :|"

    and they repllied

    "Who's got the crack?

    Sent from my iPhone"
    So I replied

"Okay enough of the games, answer the question or I will have to assume you are one of my few friends who know about my love of ponies. That is screwing with me. It's an easy question it was on the flyer and if you get it right you could be on TV. Defending Brony honour."

Then I never heard back. I asked my friends who knew about my bronydom on facebook about it. but they all denied having anything to do with it.

It was some random real life troll, evidently.

Dumb trolls. I wish they'd find something better to do but that will never happen.

Hearing the positive qualities PMV is different then sing at the gala. I really have to stop.

i work on the building industry, on the middle of the guys that does the hard work. lots of guys that would call you a *squee!* and treat you like if you had a disease for just cleaning under your nails before lunch. Anyway,i was under an iron structure hammering a nail in the concrete and suddendly i started singing "art of the dress", and when i said " French haute couture, please" with the voice of Fluttershy the guy that work with me looked to me like "WTF is that?" and asked:"Which kind of *squee!* music is that?" i thaght for a moment on what to say and he insisted on the question and then i remembered:"f*** this, no one speaks english here anyway" and i said to him: "its art of dress from my little pony". He looked at me like if he knew what i said and said: "stop singin that f****ing *squee!* music and go back to work".
since that day i sing what music i want without being affraid of anyone saying *squee!* to me XD
