Hey everypony.. I noticed something pretty interesting, and I'm not so sure if it were ever mentioned here but; in season two's episode "About Time".. Twilight Princess mentions something about the "gates to Tartarus" and explains it to be like some sort of Hades or Notherlands in ponyverse. Tartarus does actually coincide to an old legend, and seeing as MLP does revolve with mythology- I wasn't that surprised, but it did intrigue me. Especially since Cerberus appeared.. And I was thinking... Maybe this was foreshadowing a future event in the series, considering that that whole thing with Cerberus didn't really have a point(Besides the scar on TS's cheek).. Or well, the bringing-up of Tartarus in general. So there really is like a pony Hell? Or what? =\ The topic of Tartarus was pretty big for a "kids" themed show... What do you guys think? We've already had trouble with Nightmare Moon and Discord; do you think that Tartarus holds the worst-of-all apocalypse problems for Equestria?

Well, there's "The Adventures of Hercules" and kids watch that all the time. :-/

Anyway, if they ever need material for a season pilot or finale, they might use it again if they can't come up with something else.

I actually used Tartarus in my roleplaying is magic storyline. There it essentially was the prison of the four apocalypse ponies before their escape. The campaign essentially is about a new generation of champions of harmony trying to prevent the Equestrian apocalypse, set in motion by Azathoth, the most powerful dark god in Lovecraftian lore.

yes, mlp storywriters are keen on foreshadowing, so, yes possible. They usually use so small details, that rarely anyone takes note of, and then use them as some major thing in story.
