"In anatomy, heterochromia refers to a difference in coloration, usually of the iris but also of hair or skin."
    ^Wikipedia.

I myself have one green eye and one blue eye. It's not too noticeable unless in decent light, but it's there nonetheless. One of my best friends has sectoral heterochromia, which means only part of one eye is a different colour. (She has a brown stripe on one eye). One of my dad's friend's kids has heterochromia too, but not his eyes. He was born with a birthmark on his scalp and though most of his hair is blonde, the hair that grew over his birthmark is dark brown! Anyone else have heterochromia of any sort? Post away and feel free to include pics!

I love dogs with heterochromia! I've seen huskies have it more than i've seen any other breed have it- It's adorable :3. What breed was your dog?

    Hehhe. ^^
It's a pain when you have eyeshadow though. o.o Usually I can get away with it, but there are certain colours that go with one eye but not the other. Sometimes a colour highlights/compliments only one eye, and then the other stands out and people look at it funny until they realise I have two different coloured eyes. xD

she was part australian shepard and part begal. If I can find a picture I'll post it.

I could see eyeshadow being an issue, but being a guy, I wouldn't have any real problem with it.

Wow, that's pretty neat, I don't really know what else to say other than I'm a bit jealous too.

I have a gold ring around my pupil but I'm not sure that's the same kind of thing?

Your dog is so cute :omg:

I had a friend with partial heterochromia anemia in his right eye. Just a little bit of blue covered the top to a point where you'd actually have to inspect his eyes to see it.

Oh wow Your dog really looks awesome! But i think she gives us a nasty look :D

I dont know if its heterochromie but i have like, when strong light hits my eyes they are perfect green and in a smoother light they look a little blue. But what i love most about my eyes is the dark ring i have around my iris. I dont have a foto =(

But i most like heterochromie with cats. Like this one:

I love this. I just have two green eyes. Sooo boring. I wonder though, does it effect eyesight in any way?

I think you have just answered a life long question I have been asking doctors and myself. I think I may have heterochromia in my hair, as since I was 4 years old I have had this random spot on my head where the hair comes out white, not grey, completely white.

I was heterochromic back when I was 13. I was Golden-Brown in one eye, Blue in the other.

Now I've got both of my eyes Hazel. It was weird.

That's the same as my eyes. Blueish-green on the outer rim, golden brown on the inner. I really like it. ^^

The only case of heterochromia i've ever seen was in Final Fantasy 10 and i thought it was some sort of animation error. :derpe:

I just have boring, extremely dark brown eyes. Heterochromia looks awesome though. I'd like to either have heterochromia or eyes like these:

Well when most children are born they tend to have lighter hair and lighter or different color eyes. That is brought upon by the young developing child having yet to have the Genes that are adopted by the parents to truely "turn on", if you will.

Those with Heterochromia tend to have a "hiccup" in their Genetic Makeup, which leads to slight discoloration in certain areas. It is most commonly refered to as a Mutation in the Scintific field. But not in a negative or harmful way. Just a unique trait like freckles or moles...

I do not have, but I wish I did.

So did I. I was pretty sure it was intentional, If you're talking about Yuna, the colour of her eyes were symbolic, like Asuna from Magima.

My eyes are blue, but were obviously lighter as a baby, since a majority of newborn children first have blue eyes before being exposed to their full sight and the light of their surroundings. I think that your eye (the blue side) took longer to develop possibly? It's something to do with lack of a certain type of fluid in the eye.
When you get excess fluid, your eyes can be a different colour from the other (Like Green/brown), and some eyes have little to no fluid in them, and therefore causes a transparency that then shows a blood-red colour like you get in Albino's.

technically, I do have it, but not on my eyes, but on my skin.
Since I'm mix of 2 races (dad's black, mom's white), small parts of my skin are either white as my mom's or black as my dad's.

I have a friend who has one blue eye and one eye that's half blue and half brown.

Also, this girl that I've got a crush on, she's got hazel eyes. SO. PRETTY.

I would wear two different colors of eyeshadow. People would be like, "I didn't know you wore eyeshadow. Why are there two different colors?" and I would say "I've got two different colored eyes, bro! Jelly much?"

Yeah, heterochromia sounds like it's fun.

I am unfathomably jealous of your heterochromia.
Not only do you have it, you have it in my favorite pairing for it.

All of my jelly is yours.

Though... people /do/ say my eye color has an odd tendency to change every couple of months. I've checked this fact and I've noticed the hue likes to swap around occasionally. Back in June it was a greyish-green. Now it's a greenish-blue.
    It's always green-something.
