oooooooh! From about pre-school or before to mid/late high school I wanted to be an animator. I'm not as arty as I am math/sciencey though. I also came to love computer science. The mix of those interests lead me to study video game development and computer science in undergrad. I'm in grad school now for CS at a school that had oportunities for Virtual Reality research, so I thought that would be neat and possibly applicable to game dev. At grad school I actually found that animation studios sometimes do look for computer science researchers, especially big and inovative companies like Disney and Pixar. As such they were two of the places I've applied to internships at for this summer. We'll see though. Anyway, I love Pixar too! I'm not great at it but I've done a bit of 3D animation in undergrad from my humanities requirement (though I was a computer science student at a highly technology focused school). Still, I love seeing animation of all sort and even animation history to an extent. I have a plush of Oswald the Rabbit in my apartment. From the little animation I've done I could say it was pretty fun. I've enjoyed everything I've done related to game development though really. I guess in the end I'll see how things end up. Anyway, best of luck to you! It's a great goal really! If you are at the right age for it check out Pixar's internships for this summer, they may have some relevant to you (I mean I found some worth applying to there based on my background.. I can even try to help you look around for animation internship in general for the summer if you want, that said I have no clue if you are the right age for that sort of thing or not.)
