I was thinking about some of the words I hated today (always the pessimist), but posting such a thread would be against the delicate nature of this forum, thereby I have created this thread. Herein you can post your favourite words.

    As for mine:

You've probably guessed the first ones - the 'Demonstrative pronoun + Preposition' mix (i.e. Herein, therefore, thereafter, hereafter, henceforth etc.) They sound incredibly formal, and formality is a good thing.

Second, slightly political: Society. NEVER community. I prefer to look at groups on a (inter)national basis, but not local (which is, in fact, one of the words I dislike).

Third, also political: Liberal. Discrimination is bad, children.

I can't think of any more. Post yours.

Don't argue, children. Ralph invented the conch as a means of speaking for a reason.

    • Valence
    • Shenanigans
    • Myrmidon

And that's all off the top of my head. (Actually myrmidon was written on my wall, but same difference. :derpe:)

    Pinapple...Don't ask me why xD

I also like some of the more archaic words, I find ways to slide one in every now and again, (Hence, Thence etc)

But when I am around my classmates I speak with as much formality as possible (To confuse them) But I try to avoid verbosity.

My favourite words can be found I the sentences above :p

I also like taking Children's nursery rhymes and making the near impossible for a child to understand.

    Eg. (Old Mother Hubbard)

Old mother Hubbard went to her cupboard
to get her pet puppy a bone
    But when she got there
    The cupboard was bare
And so her pet puppy had none

    MY Version

    Chronologically advanced maternal figurehead Hubbard
Proceeded to her internal storage unit
To acquire her young canine companion a skeletal unit
But unfortunately upon arrival and inspection
    The cupboard lacked inventory
and so chronologically advanced maternal figurehead Hubbard's young canine companion was nutritionally deprived

And there are others I can't think of, due to that fact that it's a bit early over here right now.

You don't want to know where we found the pineapple.

Speaking of pineapples, Sponge is cool.

    Also Syameimaru.

    Shenanigans is always good.

GREAT GOOGLY MOOGLY is always fun to say, as is flabbergasted.

I also have an odd liking for saying words as they are spelt; I would say 'in-spec-tee-on' rather than 'inspection'.

    Mo-ron.

Moron, just pronounced how Catherine Diaz does it in Bad Teacher.
