I was reading a bit of pony news in which Lauren Faust said that there had been a segment of the Nightmare Night episode featuring Rarity that had been cut for time constraints. Do you suppose this happens often? If so, with the all the bells and whistles available with modern media releases, wouldn't it be possible to have something like "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - Season One *Un-Cut!*" available in the future? How cool would that be? Like... imagine if Trixie was redeemed at the end of Boast Busters...
Dude, I would pay money to see a deleted scene of Rarity in episode 4. Trixie? Eh? I would not want to even see her return in season 2.
Well personally I'd like to see features like that on a DVD release. I mean, what DVD would be complete without deleted scenes? It's like Applejack and her hat, they just go together. Not only is it that novelty of seeing what was removed from the original airing, but it could also be interesting to see if there are any other dimensions or traits to the characters that the writers planned, but simply didn't have enough time to show. I liked your example involving Trixie. I find her quite interesting as a character, and although the episode was all wrapped up nice and well, in my head it was something of a cliffhanger in terms of what happened to Trixie. Thus, I fully support the idea of these scenes being released in some format in the future, preferably in a DVD package.
I concur, I want a DVD release and deleted scenes would make that even better. Episode 6 should have had more Trixie, but hopefully she will get a season 2 episode.
They did say that Rarity did have a part in the script, but took off unnecessary parts for time constrains I assume.
yes, I agree, it would be great thing to see those scenes on dvd release. Also, I think except Rarity cut, that there were more time cuts, specially in Return of Harmony. That episode was suppose to be way longer, but there was time limit to do it in. Trixie?, yeah, sure, why not
Yes! I would also like a DVD release that has any and all the deleted scene they couldn't include! That would be awesome to see what that deleted scene from LE looked like with our own eyes. Speaking of that omitted scene, a theory I've heard getting tossed around was that maybe the reason Rarity wasn't in the episode was because Tabitha St. Germain also had to provide the voices for Luna, Mayor Mare, Granny Smith and Zecora. That's already four other characters she does the voices of in the same episode. Maybe adding one more would have been too much of a burden on her? Keep in mind this theory was though of BEFORE we found out that the scene was taken out for time constraints.
I would love to see more Trixie. She isn't even a background character. Luna practically WAS a background character by comparison. Jayson Thiesson commented that he felt there was more to be told with the character. It's probably bringing the voice actor (since she voices no other characters) back that's prevented her from being back already. I wonder why they chose Rarity. Last scenes to reach completion?
Un-cut, Directors cut versions of MLP:FIM would be amazing. I'm sure they could easily make an awesome box set with all the episode plus tones on goodies like interviews of the cast, cut scenes, bloopers, tones of ref and Easter eggs in the show and specially made for the DVD, plus a full version of Equestira Girls since while the long version was nice, its still not the full song. i really do hope they make ones for each season since it would make for some great merch for the older crowd and Hasbro would make a killing with them, which is always good for us since Hasbro making money on MLP means more show and merch for us.
