She laughed a little. “I think it might be a good idea just to get two small mattresses. A bed floor might be a problem.”
Her shoulders were slumped at this point and she shook her head slowly. “I think that’s not a great idea.”
“Because none of this is permanent, you know? We’ll probably have to go somewhere else before the end of this year.”
“No,” she protested, reaching out to take his hand before hesitating and pulling it back to her side. “It’s sweet. I love it.”
