“You’re not going to believe this,” she replied quietly. “But I’m not wearing anything, Abes. Not a single thing. You could have followed me and yet you chose to go do something else.”

 

“Is that a promise?”

 

She was laughing on her end.

“I know for a fact that that comment makes you exceedingly nervous.”

 

“There’s no rush,” she replied, her voice softening. “Don’t worry, Abes. There’s no rush.”

 

She was quiet on her end before he would hear her take a breath of realization.

“Oh! But I thought you said that you knew some stuff...?”

 

She laughed a little, but it sounded affectionate.

“Was she cute?”

 

“What?!” she replied incredulously. “You can’t remember who you lost your virginity to?!”

 

“Oh my God,” she said, and the water sounds stopped. “Okay. We have a lot to talk about. We’re you drunk?”

 

“Because I thought you were inexperienced!” she exclaimed. “That’s it, Abes. When we meet back up again, all bets are off.”

 

“All bets are off,” she repeated, getting out of the shower. “And clothes.”
