Looks like you guys've never visited 4chan. Either that, or you've only been to /b/. Serioulsly, not all boards are bad.
Based Tyrone & Anonymous are the only things i enjoy that was conceived in 4chan. Other then knowing those 2 things i don't care about 4chan. I see enough idiocy on Facebook and Tumblr Sent from my LG-L38C using Tapatalk 2
/b/ isn't the only board like that. /v/ is just as bad. I know because I'm on 4chan almost every day.
I didn't say /b/ was the only board like that. I said not all boards were all that bad. I'm not a big fan of /v/ myself. EDIT; Oh, and /pol/'s pretty terrible too. But the point I'm trying to make is that these boards aren't 4chan's entirety. There are other boards, and quite a few of them are pretty great. - - Auto Merge - - ^ This guy gets it.
So basically 4chan is like the tartarus of the internet and that you would be a badass for going there?
Alot of things on 4chan are fundamentally sick and disturbed, yet I can't deny that alot of the people there are very intelligent and are expert-level trolls. Encyclopedia Dramatica, basically run by channers, always has/had some great articles.
Are you bad enough dude to tread the dark hallows of 4chan and come back out in one piece? Yeah, I'm going right there to get in on some of the action cause I'm a hardass like that.
I will admit, I have been on /mlp/ every now and then, but THAT board is even WORSE than /b/, if that is even possible.
Even though I haven't been on the real 4Chan before I remember that I have been on Ponychan several times two years ago, I haven't really been there since and I don't really have a account on there either.
4chan is mild to moderate The only boards I've been on really are /v/ and /mlp/. I've been on a few others briefly /mu/ for instance is full of posers and hipsters and /b/ is literally the worst threads on tumblr with a lot of random p0rn thrown in for the underage users to ogle. /v/ is completely retarded and hard to lurk because it's very active and less than 0.2% of the time there is a good thread like a discussion about old pc games that are good and mods that go well with them where people are polite and informative. These threads always tend to 404 within 6 hours anyway whereas the **** threads that are low quality bait or genuine retarded 'hurr durr' graphics and frame rate 'discussion' go on forever and dominate the entire board. /mlp/ is 90% sfw pony p0rn I am not exaggerating. The rest of it is people calling each other autistic **** but occasionally maybe 0.2% you get some cool pony news or info to discuss and also if fandom drama amuses you like it does me (it's the glue that holds us together off season) then you will see 'the happening' It's hilarious but rare.
4chan is a fascinating specimen, to be sure. If I ever go there, it's never to post (as 90% of the time, the replies will consist of "OP IS A ******" depending on which board you're on), but mostly to browse for funny/arousing/totally ****ed up images. Not a place I go to often, but it's good for a laugh (or cringe) every once in a while.
*** is pratically a term of endearment on 4chan it's used so often both positively and negatively and has no real connotations left at this point. I post with a trip there and you can tell you're in a decent thread depending upon if someone calls you a trip *** or not. If they don't that means people are actually there to discuss something if they do well then either watch the thread inevitably derail or move on. I go there maybe twice a week but I don't stay long.
