Eeeeeeeeeeeeeep I CANNOT WAIT to see Princess Luna again! Every episode I hoped to see her again but never did So hurry up season 2!
I want to see more of Luna, but not in the present! With the introduction of Discord, the mystery of ancient times in Equestria thickens. If Discord ruled before Celestia and Luna, what came before him? Where did Celestia and Luna come from? Surely they most have parents, who were alicorns to? Unless of course they had a unicorn father, and a pegasus mother, or vice versa. I also want to know what happened from the beginning of the sisters rule to the point where Celestia banished Nightmare Moon. I want to know how Luna became Nightmare Moon, and I want to see the interactions between Celestia and Luna and Luna gradually became bitter against her. I don't feel that Luna would survive as her own character, the huge mystery and aura that surround her and Celestia is only because of the relations between them. I hope that they develop these links more than either of the characters alone.
I expect not to see the series pulling a "Shadow the Hedgehog" out of poor Luna , she needs love and being loved, not brooding and weeping around corners... Please, no cheap drama on Luna, just hugs and brushie brushies...
It's quite possible that spending a thousand years in isolation on the moon could mess with one's mind. Luna may be determined to be good, but I'm sure she's going to have a few moments where it's a challenge for her to stay on that path. It will make for some interesting story lines. Luna is drawn in a very appealing fashion and I have no doubt her character will be much loved.
I imagine Luna has being someone sad and possibly depressed, and quite anti-social. While she'll do her best to try to merge into an entirely new society than the one she left (I mean, think about how much Earth has changed in 1000 years), it will be difficult and she'll be wary. All Luna knows anymore is loneliness and being by herself. Interaction with others is a bit of a foreign concept.
The Mane Six are just the ponies for the (probably) tough job of "resocializing" Luna. They will win her over with the principle traits that they are known for: Honesty, loyalty, compassion, generosity, laughter, and magic. (I'm sure you've heard of them.) I hope that episodes concerning Luna will be fairly common as there's a LOT of good storyline in there just waiting to be tapped. I can easily envision six separate episodes each focusing on Luna's interaction with just one of the Mane Six characters. And more, interacting with all of them. Luna COULD become a dominant character outside of the Mane Six. I kind of hope that that is the direction the show takes.
so.... season 1 Luna or season 2 Luna? I for one like her this way. Gives her a much stronger character. Now that she has her own episode, maybe she'll get better recognition in the fandom. But perhaps ruin it for those who perfer season 1 Luna.
Epic Luna is epic, well, she was quite Tia's sister, but more into "royal-frou-frou-pain-in-flank" any ways, Pipsqueak got the best of her. For some moments I trough she was going back to NMM for real, but then she was a lovable character, mischievous, the setting called for it, but dunno if would be the usual for her. In a nutshell, Luna's character responded to the high expectations created among fandom, a lot was expected, a lot has been conceded. She's complex enough to rival the Mane 6 as a main character, that could be a problem, or a cry to hasbro to release some decent merch of her.
now she seemed bit old fashioned and somewhat like she came from medevil times, which is understandable since she was away from Earth for 1000 years, and still in mind stayed in way that were things in time when she was sent to the Moon. Now she needed time to change, and she turned out to be everything what I expected (ok, except hair, but that's just detail). Seems that she has much magic power since she was able to turn to Nightmare Moon and back with no problems at all. I hope from now on that we'll see more of Luna, at least as much as we see Celestia.
I like her. I never let myself be caught up in the whole hype over Luna, even if I enjoyed many fanon interpretations, so I wasn't at all disappointed. It's amusing to see her so socially-awkward. Some copypaste from the episode discussion: So yeah. I hope to see her return, so they can explore her character a bit more. If you really think about it...would a princess in our world from hundreds of years ago fit in if they ended up in modern time? Even if they had a year to adjust? Yeah, I imagine she'd have some struggles anyway.
"fanon"....fan version. The fan version is less commanding, less authoritative, more weepy, and more in need of a hug than the canon version.
