Let me summarize the area in question; If the events in the N.T. Actually happened, Christians nowadays would still be wearing execution devices. Yea, sure.
Actually, I understand completely what you mean, and it makes sense. Because Jesus was crucified, we take the cross as our symbol to remember that he died on it for us, soo....if he was killed by electric chair....then I suppose, we WOULd be using and electric chair as our symbol, of course that would only happen if it occurred in present time like Grey one said
Well seeing as he died in Judaea, which is part of Israel. It would be more than likely you'd be worshipping a rock, even in modern times.
If Jesus died today and we recorded his resurection, I doubt many would doubt his identity, makes me wonder why he did not do his sacrifice in the age of cameras and viral videos if believing in his resurection is so important.
I've always wondered that too, but I guess there are just some thing we many never understand. Also, I'm surprised this thread has gone 42 pages without a lock
Except conspiracy theories exist. Like 911 didn't happen. Or the holocaust. Or America's independence, etc. Sent from my Transformer
He wouldn't be able to. If I may paraphrase Douglas Adams using this as the case. The argument would go something like this - God: I refuse to prove that I exsit, because proof denies faith and without faith, I am nothing. Man: Ah, but all these videos we have are a proof and a dead giveaway, aren't they? They prove you exist and therefore you don't. QED. God: Oh dear, I hadn't thought of that. *God promptly vanishes in a puff of logic* Man: That was easy, I think I'll go on to prove that black is white! *Man gets killed at the next Zebra crossing* /There are many who believe this argument is a load of dingo's kidneys. What you forget to add is God knows all sees all and tells nothing. The reason? He shouldnt have to. He has better things to do than explain simple concepts the mortals that refuse to believe anything non-physical. Plus. We wouldnt be able to comprehend some things. Maybe i just have a higher grasp of things like this.(I can think about the largeness of the universe and not freak out)
^ this. You could liken God to an extra dimension. This 4th dimension is practically impossible to comprehend since we are restricted to 3 dimensions. Likewise, God is meant to be too great for us to comprehend. Which leaves you with two options: Do you have to see something to believe it? Or are you open to the idea some things exist that we can't explain? Either answer is fine, since we'll probably never be able to prove that God exists with hard evidence. As for why he doesn't prove that he exists? Then there'd be no difference between Heaven and Earth, rendering religion useless.
